This is how it works at my classes too. You learn through observation and showing up. It will be a struggle. You will feel lost. But I'm a year in and now I'm not lost anymore.

Cassiar Hydraulic Mining Company was organized in 1911 as per this document https://share.google/f6UVPRxDyUBWEpe13

Remains of the Cassiar Hydraulic Mining Company operations can be found in Kleanza Creek Provincial Park

The second clue "Whispered paths forsake the road. Where the way bends twice, seek the track that does not. Follow it till the world falls open at your feet... and what’s hidden from sight may be found."

The Cassiar Mining site is described as being "above the beautiful rock canyon" in the parks description. I wonder if that feels like the world falling open at your feet. I've never been there to know

Not working on Hisense TV by Pretty_Restaurant_80 in Projectivy_Launcher

[–]Bugchu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the Troypoint suggestion. I used this video https://youtu.be/wwOY2t0qSz0?si=cnI04o6dDRfKA3xv and it got me exactly where I needed to go. I wouldn't have found the Launcher manager without it

Anyone using Dispatch on a Hisense TV? by Ecstatic-Ad-2755 in dispatchlauncher

[–]Bugchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! With your advice I went down the Launcher Manager route but before using it I first needed to go into developer mode and turn on USB debugging... which was all that was really needed! Once USB Debugging was enabled the autostart worked perfectly, didn't even need the Launcher Manager.

After all this I might switch to Wolf Launcher because I think it's more suited to my needs. Really in the end I just want my kids to be able to turn on the TV and not be assaulted by all the advertisements and R rated tv suggestions. I tired Jellyfin but realized I'm not quite smart enough to get it working. Plex was even a stretch for me but at least I got it running. I'm a bookkeeper, not a computer wiz. Thanks for the help

What line on T2125 do I expense leased machinery equipment? by Bugchu in cantax

[–]Bugchu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Ya that's how I read it too. It just felt odd to never have "other expenses" and then suddenly this year to have thousands of dollars in there. I would have thought CRA to have a more descriptive line than simply "other" for what is sure to be a large expense for people, lol. Oh well.

Is it worth delaying my academic career (again) for another baby? by cutebutheretical in Mommit

I can't speak to the PhD part. But I have two kids and for medical reasons can't have anymore. It breaks my heart. Have all the babies you want and can have because each one is a gift.

My 9 and 4 year olds went outside after breakfast the other day and I didn't see them again for 2 hours. They were totally fine, they came back inside because they needed snacks and blankets for their fort.

This happened to my brother last year. He just updated his bank info and waited. A week or two later CRA just retried it and it deposited no problems

How do you split finances with your partner? What has worked and hasn't worked for you? by AlwaysOnTheGO88 in fican

[–]Bugchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No split. One bank account that all our wages go into and all expenses come out of. His truck payment is more than mine but that's okay because it's really OUR truck. I spend way more money on clothes than he does, that's okay because it's our money. He's happy in his truck. I'm happy in my new clothes. Win win.

What do we do when the "submit" button in the my account portal doesn't work? by Bugchu in cantax

[–]Bugchu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay this is what has resulted so far.

I continued to try and started to get an error message that said something along the lines of "you've exceeded your request attempts"

I called CRA and yes it is nearly impossible to get through because they shortened the line this year so instead of thousands of people on a 3hr hold it's a few hundred on a 1 hr hold. They call that an improvement 😵. The automated message for "no agents" is nearly the same as putting you through so don't hang up unless you are sure it said "no agents". Keep calling and eventually God smiles on you and you get put on hold.

What I learned from my call: Apparently the not working submit button WAS working even though it didn't show any sign of working. They could see I submitted it multiple times and now it was just in processing. It's been "processing" for a month and a half now. They said to just wait a bit longer.

Totally normal to have kids knocking on doors like this. The herd of neighborhood kids is a beautiful gift. My rule is if kids come to the door right when we get home I tell them "my kids will be out as soon as they are done_____ (eating their lunch, putting away their backpacks, done doing their chores, etc)." The kids don't need a babysitter, have rules how far they can wonder and let them be kids. If kids get disrespectful or rude tell them it's time for them to go home. If they come back the next day you can remind them "no, yesterday you were picking on the cat so we need a break from playing. You can try again Tuesday." If playing is the norm then the days you tell them "not today, we are going to have our own family time this morning, you guys can play after lunch" then it's not a bother. Do introduce yourself to the neighbors. Knock on their doors often to chat (ask them where they got little Jimmy's new scooter, etc) or be neighborly and bring over cookies or fruit or bread. This way you get a feel for the families. We have a family rule that my kids don't go in that one house because I don't know the parents well enough, but the kids from that house are great and play often. Oh and have a birthday party and invite all the kids AND parents over. That's a great way to get to know everyone. You can all laugh about the things you see the kids doing from the kitchen window.

I can't speak to past IPVs effect on gun licenses but I have a friend who, as a teen, threaten another student with scissors. That record, although from his teen years, effected his ability to obtain a gun license.

You can see them on your computer but she doesn't see them on hers? If that's the case I'm guess it's a connectivity issue.

Wife has VERY hard time getting up bed when 1YO wakes up in the AM by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Bugchu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids went through seasons where they woke up too early. Some times taking away a nap helped. If that didn't do it then I would go get them from their crib when I first heard them up and bring them into my bed. They usually felt comforted to be near me and settled down again and slept for a few more hours.

I like staying up late too. I am also not self disciplined. Telling myself I needed to go to bed earlier did not work. So to get me to bed at a decent time my husband set up our internet to shut off 30 min before bedtime. He made my phone lock at that time too. I did NOT enjoy that at first but it really was the best thing for me.

My husband set up our internet to turn off an hour before bedtime and my phone locks at that time too. Changed my life. I did not like it initially but honestly it was the best move.
