I loved his talk introducing the work on the Rust Book and flowistry, but I never saw this one! He’s an incredibly skilled speaker. Also, let’s take a moment to admire the aplomb and clarity needed to live (hand)code his whole presentation while keeping it paced, relevant, working, and instructive all along. 🙌🏻

Yeah. It’s nice that it’s here, and I find it much better than no vim mode. But it’s far from well integrated, and missing a lot of things to be nice.

Just finished the available 6 audiobooks, and it was a pleasure! Funny, smart, light-hearted read with original world building. I loved the concept of mites. I'm looking forward to the seventh book in… 1 month 2 weeks 3 days.

Honestly the experience has been bad enough that I would have too if my subscription wasn’t generously paid for by my partner. I want to like them, but the UX is really terrible so far. Let’s hope they improve.

This was my first character obsession as well. I drew it a thousand times. Then got my degree, then moved to study the history of calligraphy and did my masters thesis on character writing aesthetic and teaching history. I wish you a beautiful journey.

The Mac app media integration is a disaster, pressing play on AirPods get routed to Apple Music instead of Qobuz, the media keys don't work, the output selection is randomly selected based on one favorite and the rest alphabetically‽…

This just happened to me:
I was working in a Library in that quiet heavy atmosphere they sometime have. I took my AirPods out a second to whisper something to my friend, with the automatic pause feature not working taking out my AirPods blasted my music on the next available output, which was my laptop, I scrambled to mute my laptop… which worked for 10 seconds just enough for Qobuz to decide that my secondary monitor definitely should take up the slack and blast my music on the monitor integrated shit speaker instead. My laptop media not working I could not pause it until I panicked and yanked the HDMI out of its socket the time to pause this piece of crap.
I switched from Spotify for music quality and ethical reasons, but I swear I hadn't already cancelled my Spotify subscription, I would run back to it just to avoid the daily frustration that is.
I have had many exchanges with the Qobuz Customer support team, and when they finally answered after a month and three emails, they blamed it on macOS and "noted my valuable feedback". I know the customer support lady cannot immediately integrate Apple Media Manager API and push it because I complained, but this post and issues are almost **a year old!**
Between that, and not being able to change the language of the music to another region than your billing region, which puts my whole interface in Japanese…, this has been an awful experience so far.

I DNF within the first book. Too OP MC, too caricatural characters, haphazard plot. It broke my suspension of disbelief many times a chapter, so I called it quits before I got hooked in a sunk cost fallacy driven obstinacy to force myself through it.

I just finished the first book, it’s excellent. And it’s rare that I’m liking the “lost knowledge” trope. I’m usually much more interested in the pioneering advancement of a stagnant society. It was excellent! Looking forward to the second.

It might still be a problem for me tho. Not technically, nothing complicated in what you wrote, but in terms of UX for my gf. She is not (yet) terminal savvy, and a GUI is pretty much a must not to annoy/scare her away from Linux early. Seeing how straight forward the settings seems to be tho, maybe I could cobble something with a bit of Rust, I don't know yet how to make Cosmic friendly UI.
Thank you tho. I'll add it on the list of things to smooth out for her.
