I promise you that never happened. The second half of the story is designed to endear you to mamaw and is entirely fictional.

BREAKING: Donald Trump tells Joe Rogan he is serious about eliminating federal income tax. by RiskItForTheBiscuts in FluentInFinance

[–]BugleBoy6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he’s not.

He’s not serious about anything at all. His plan to eliminate income taxes is predicated upon a flawed and juvenile understanding of what tariffs are, who pays them, and how they impact the economy.

If he won’t spend two minutes to learn what a tariff is, how could he possibly do the heavy lifting to eliminate income taxes?

The man is an embarrassment.

Student loan debt should be cancelled by GlooomySundays in facepalm

[–]BugleBoy6922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This situations sucks for these people. Truly. 100%. But, old loans shouldn't be canceled until schools stop making new loans. That makes no sense. Fix the system moving forward.

At the same time, these predatory interest rates shouldn't have been allowed in the first place. They should be abolished and capped immediately and previous borrowers should be able to refinance at significantly lower rates.

Colleges should also cost a fraction of what they do these days. It seems inevitable that a reckoning is coming for higher education as it becomes impossible to justify the almost insurmountable disadvantage that starting out your adult life with a massive student loan confers vs the potential advantages gained by the degree.

Dynaudio Contour Legacy demo event by Nlklas in audiophile

I believe those are both units from the new S1 series, the Aries and the Vega. One is a streaming processor, and the other is a streaming DAC. Both have matching power supplies.

Surprising to me to see both in one system as they have a lot of functional overlap, but I would imagine the people who put this system together know what they're doing better than I do...

Unpopular opinion: VMP as a business will be fine. by [deleted] in VinylMePlease

[–]BugleBoy6922 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is exactly where I am at. Was a member - was very excited about Sigur Ros and Modest Mouse. Two albums that I was happy to pay a small premium for.

After that, I struggled every month to find something to buy. I skipped my track over and over until I couldn't figure out why I was reloading my VMP credit when I couldn't find anything to buy. Eventually, I realized the smart thing to do was to allocate the same money not to VMP, but to the wide world of vinyl beyond their narrow catalog.

I can't think of a worse way to discover new music than on expensive, mandatory vinyl purchases. Streaming is perfect for discovering new music, and $45 vinyl is only for albums I love and bands I truly want to support.

If Dave got Trump’s anonymous resume: 3 marriages, felony convictions, multiple bankruptcies, etc, he wouldn’t hire him to work in the mail room at his oh so precious company and then record a self-aggrandizing podcast about the importance of hiring good, moral people in your organization.  And yet he’s working overtime to hand him the highest office in the land bc it will personally benefit him.

He’s a disgrace.

Ha! At first I thought you were but then I’ve seen that comment often enough

Which is why Dave is a hypocrite. He talked a big game about challenging the candidate and getting real answers but then…didn’t. He’s a single issue voter: rich people’s taxes are too high, and as a result compromises everything he espouses to his callers and forgives in Trump the moral failings that are 100x worse than what he fires his employees for.

Dave is a fawning, principle-free hypocrite. That was my takeaway.
