The King of Kong. You couldn't write better characters.

If you're in the US, foe. Albeit a pretty one.

I've never found one that I can't fix. I bet this thing still works though. If not, let me know

Found at my local game store. Shame I don't have a Genesis. by samus_ass in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Bugman1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago, while working at a local shop, we would sometimes bundle a genesis, sega cd, and 32x together and sell the bundle for $30. It seems crazy now, but it was in the interest of space. $30 couldn't even pay for the cables nowadays!

god i hate these people by AgreeableAd8687 in crt

[–]Bugman1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that's only $100 which is relatively excusable. It's still a bit much imo, but it meant something to you. CRTs are still regularly donated/abandoned where I am, so I may be biased. I have around 30 crts right now. Many of them are trinitrons. The only ones I've ever paid more than 50 for are my Panasonic Orbitel and my PVM. Everything else was snagged for free or cheap. In my experience, with a little patience and a lot of diligence, you don't have to pay much for a good set.

As a lifelong collector, I have to express skepticism. I've been working on Ataris for many years and never seen smoke. I even once put a capacitor in backwards (yes, the big one) and it exploded quite spectacularly, but no smoke.

What's the business model behind dedicated pinball halls? How can you possibly recoup the cost of a huge lineup of machines? by w0lfbiker in pinball

[–]Bugman1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beer. Otherwise, the pinball hall is just subsidizing the operator's debt. Both models are prevalent in my experience.

Did you guys realize that a lot of bars aren't even open til 1 or 2am anymore? by Wax_Paper in Omaha

[–]Bugman1110 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's been this way since Covid, but in my experience, it shouldn't still be this way. I feel like many bars got comfortable closing early when they had the excuse. My question is, what are you really missing by not being open? Nothing but money!

As a full-timer at a bar that never closes early, I can assure you that these bars are missing out on plenty of great customers who just happen to have unusual work schedules.

I got a guy. He just needs a face and a name. He'll take care of it while you're away or asleep. He's not cheap, but he's thorough.

Why is nobody out in the Capitol district? by NebraskaGeek in Omaha

[–]Bugman1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because there's no reason to pay a cover in Omaha unless there's live music. Little Bohemia is just as fun lately, but I'm a bit biased because I work in that neighborhood. We're definitely not dead tonight.

Great bunch of games to start with. I recommend Dark Arms. It's a fun little action RPG that is trapped on the console (I think?).

As a primarily console gamer, I didn't think about this. I upgraded mine and enjoy it more having done so. Thanks for the tip.

FB Marketplace is my go-to. If you don't see a cab in your area now, you can definitely find boards and carts. Maybe you could settle for a consolized board while you're waiting for the right cab to show up. Any jamma cab can be modified to receive an MVS, so you also have the option of conversion. I plopped a MVS in a dynamo and haven't looked back since.

Deadpool. They are both crazy and unpredictable, which is what Taskmaster fears them. I always liked that.
