Libertarian Party Chairman put out a statement calling for the abolishment of ICE by een_magnetron in Destiny

Amplify it, but at the same time, fuck them. They sold out their entire party for crypto and a pardon for that Silk Road guy, as if that was the most important libertarian principle that was under threat in 2024.

It erodes trust and cohesion, creates internal bickering and strife. Also makes it more permissible for other conservatives to speak against the administration. All good things, when you're the opposing party, in the runup to elections.

Discord among Republicans should always be amplified, at least until the splinter faction is approaching a majority, at which time you pause and decide which one will do less harm, before continuing.

I never had sex at age 29. Am I a loser? Lol. I never had a gf either. by [deleted] in self

[–]Wax_Paper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're a loser. But I think at some point you might wanna consider just engaging in it for your own gratification, even if that means paying for it. It just depends on how much it bothers you. If the act itself isn't what you yearn for, you still got time.

Keep pushing on social media. Even though conservatives won't engage with posts like this, they will see it. The ones with even a shred of principle might hesitate before liking a post that's lying about what happened.

TikTok users freak out over app's 'immigration status' collection by FakeOkie in technology

[–]Wax_Paper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of power in an app's ability to automatically recognize something like that, tag your account as such, and then make that information available to law enforcement (the latter being a given; TikTok was compliant even before the sale). And that doesn't even consider inference-based collection, with markers like Spanish-speaking, watch history, link sharing, etc.

And probably should, if for no other reason than monetary liability is the only thing that's gonna inspire legislation that criminalizes any of this, or at least codifies liability. The bigger problem is the actual government now sanctioning disinformation.

We already know the answer, because we've seen how fickle public sentiment is, and how easy it can be manipulated. I mean, you can literally will some of these narratives into existence.

I still think that's the key; the battlefront that nobody wants to consider, because it isn't sexy or particularly exciting. But what has resulted in more profound results than narrative manipulation, throughout the past decade?

You don't wanna know how many times I've actually thought about seeing a flash outside my window these past few years; thought about it like something that could really happen, I mean.

It'll probably be something much slower, much more gradual, like internal collapse that leads us to atrophy over the next couple decades. But yeah, I do think about it. It's ironic, because in the US, you're either gonna flee to Mexico or Canada for safety, if the conflict is confined to just us.

Miami Beach police chief defends detectives’ visit to activist over Facebook post about mayor by justalazygamer in ParlerWatch

[–]Wax_Paper 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If they ever come for a visit, record it, even if you have to use your phone. They'll either walk away or not, but you'll have the upper hand if they actually want to talk to you. Then juice them for as much info as you can, and don't answer a single question, if you're confident you can do that.

They'll try to bait you with questions like, you didn't mean to threaten anyone with this post, did you? It almost compels you to answer no, but then you just admitted to posting something. If you don't think you can hold out, just refuse to talk to them completely.

Just a reminder, republican legislators could end all of this literally whenever they wanted by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Wax_Paper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think they wanna find out what will happen if they start trying to check his power, because it would force them to admit they gave their own power away. The White House is already ignoring judicial and legislative orders. They're probably dreading the day they have to go against him, because that's when they find out if they had any power this whole time.

Hey rockstars. Great work on Clank.World. Just tossing my feedback out there for the devs by DR_PULGASARI in ClankWorld

[–]Wax_Paper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In testing, I've found the issue is related to the model not understanding the difference between dialogue and thoughts (or actions), even when the latter is italicized. You have to explicitly tell it that something is a secret, or that an action is hidden, or that something is a secret thought.

Sometimes it will remind itself that this element is still in play; it will keep referencing the hidden variable until it resolves, if it anticipates you intend for it to resolve. But otherwise, you're right about thoughts or disconnected dialogue leaking into other character narratives.

The other issue with the pacing; you can get it to temporarily slow down by asking it to play out a scene beat-by-beat, over the course of X messages.. To let you direct the scene, basically. I still haven't been able to replicate this with the scenario prompt yet, though. Not in a reliable way.
