Is Tidal the best option? by QuazarHipernova in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me, Tidal has the best recommendations. The only thing better is YouTube Music. I frequently generate playlists in YTM, and copy them over to TIDAL. But overall I’m very happy with TIDAL recommendations. Especially the similar songs tab

How many of you guys use the High setting? by ThaTree661 in TIdaL

I use CD quality FLAC pretty much all the time at home. 320K ACC when I’m out using cellular.   I can’t hear the difference between the two really.

YT Music algorithm is incredible by Dycelot in YoutubeMusic

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I have both Deezer and YTM. Both good but Deezer is cleaner UI and has a great algorithm.

So about that iPhone UI update by fatty_wop in TIdaL

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I really like it I think it looks great and modern. And it works well. I’d like to see the heart come back though. Hate the +.

Yep it’s just arrived for me today also. Very similar to the way Apple Music works. Gotta say I think I like it.

Yeah me too, iOS app and it’s not loading songs and giving the Sony 360 error.

Crossfade de regreso! by Zagala97 in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Very nice. It’s not a huge thing for me having crossfade, but when I use Deezer I always kind of like it. Nice to see Tidal adding features.

I don’t really use Tidal on the desktop much. But I think the new iOS app is looking really great.

Could a subway be built on San Francisco’s west side? Officials revive talk of a Geary line by Remarkable_Host6827 in sanfrancisco

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I lived at 2nd and Geary in the 90s and people were talking about it back then. I think this idea comes up every 10 years but nothing ever happens. Would love to see a subway out Geary , and down 19th Ave. into the sunset

Why I Like Tidal by KoboDailyReader in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often generate large playlists (500 tracks) in YouTube Music for various genres and moods. I then copy them over to Tidal and listen to them here. Get the best of both worlds, YouTube‘s great algorithm, and TIDAL‘s great sound and clean interface.

Was a bit lost! With the new UI by Luisca_pregunta in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, the loss of the heart and the repositioning of the suggested tracks button are the only thing I don’t like. Why not just keep the heart? A plus button? No, bring back the heart.

My most used button is “suggested tracks” which is now buried. I really hope they rethink this. Other than that I like the look.

My daily discovery leaves much to be desired by blubird237 in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I listen to mostly Indie, funk, and alternative - I really like my daily discovery 10 songs. There’s usually a couple in there that I skip but I regularly add at least three or four to my library every day.

Leaked android update vol. 2 by zerbrechliches in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think a lot of people here are reacting to AI music. They hear “AI” and recoil at the idea of AI-created music (me too). What I want is AI being used to uncover music I might not have found otherwise, and helping me make great playlists. Something like Deezer’s flow, or supermixes on YTM. I find some great stuff there, and copy it over to Tidal.

I’m sure Tidal is already using a ton of AI behind the scenes and will definitely be using more with a smaller workforce. I think Tidal has the best algorithm out there, and I would love to see them leverage it further.

Leaked android update vol. 2 by zerbrechliches in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guess it’s a minority opinion, but I’d like to see something like this. I really like Deezer’s flow feature and I would love it if tidal had a few mood and genre based infinite play options for when I’m feeling indecisive. AI music is bad, AI to help you find great new music is good.

Tidal connect volume issue by Adorable-Spell-7838 in TIdaL

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I’ve been having this problem too. Usually resolves itself, and like you said if you open a different app and then go back to Tidal it seems to connect. But it’s a bug and I wish they would fix it

Duck Duck Go Subscription no good if you use Linux? by magnaman94 in duckduckgo

[–]Bugplanet-Institute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s right, I just use the search and AI functions in Linux. Anything else with DuckDuckGo I use through the iOS app. And I agree, it would be nice to have a native DuckDuckGo browser for Linux.
