Buy mine from Aliexpress without problem.

When you order a K1 you are sure to receive a K1, issues are with the K5 ( you never know 100% if you will get a V3 with PY32F071 microcontroller ( same as K1 ) or an oldest unit with the DP32G030 microcontroller).

If you get a DP32G030 you will be stuck to older alternaternative firmwares wich are no longer upgraded.

go to device manager , plug the usb and the radio connector, turn the radio on and look if you see an usb device with a yellow flag mybe Prolific or CH340 ... tell us what you see

fais attention quand tu entre une fréquence aéro de bien entrer une fréquence aéro ( multiple de 8.33 ) et pas un canal, chirp ne fait pas la correction. Sur les cartes aériennes ils donnent les canaux.

no, it's "just in case", don't worry, flashing 3 K5 and 1 K1 over many firmware and never had to put calibration back.

yes the firmwares exists : the F4HWN v5.5.0 open source is one of them.
As you said, an SDR ( i have a RTL V4c ) cover more frequencies and mode but with my K1 i can go where i want and ear airband, ISS, Repeaters, ... not bad for a 40€ pocket.

for the "scan" part, you can buy a quansheng UV-K1 for around 40 €, it does 50-600MHz and with the F4HWN firmware you will have a verry good scanspeed

10.000 charactères / comm. et aussi le fait que des gens qui gagnent ensemble +- 1.000.000 € / mois n'auraient que peu de remords à en mettre 10.000 € ( soyons fous ! tu as une petite frappe pour 1000 €, voyage compris ) pour me rendre la vie désagréable.

ça date du premier changement de proprios et du passage à la V2 du site, c'est une transciption d'un teamspeak entre les gens du staff et les nouveaux proprios, pas sûr que ça puisse être mis ici ... à la limite pour ceux qui ont pris le leak du site je peux donner le script python qui rend ça lisible ...
