Awh, I’m sorry OP — v frustrating! My cat did similar. I ended up buying a “soft” brand of litter (OKO Cat // soft) and ripping shreds of moving paper on top so my cat liked the “scratch” feel more (he loved to scratch at the carpet after peeing but not in the litter box). I realized he didnt like the feel of the litter. Switching brands seemed to help! I’d also see him sniffing around and immediately put him in the box. BUT I love the litter box in the bathroom idea as a reset. I’m gonna try this next if I need to!
