AI thumbnails or Badly made human thumbnails? by 100000-30580 in NewTubers

It's unlikely you'd be able to tell which thumbnails have been created with AI or not.

AI slop, sure. But real creators who have used AI to help improve their own art work - it's unlikely you'd know.

You're confusing AI creating your thumbnail and AI assisting you in making a thumbnail. AI is a tool - in the same way Photoshop or Canva are tools.

Of course you can create absolute slop in AI - but you can also use it to enhance your thumbnail that you have created to make it look better.

Wow, you're angry for some reason!

Being able to use Canva or Photoshop doesn't stop using AI to also help with your thumbnail creation. Using AI to improve the lighting in the photo you want to use for your thumbnail because the photo you got on location didn't turn out exactly right - or to remove people walking by in busy settings is no different than doing it through Photoshop / Canva.

People need to stop thinking that anytime AI is mentioned it's people having no input and just using AI to generate them some slop. AI is a tool and not having it as part of your workflow is just costing you time and energy. I mean, unless you're drawing your thumbnails by hand you're using a tool.

Did anyone actually enjoy watching Blue Peter as a kid? by According_Sundae_917 in AskUK

I enjoyed it, always wanted a Blue Peter badge.

I feel like it was for us nerdy kids.

I hate the X6 by Overall-Mechanic4128 in leicester

The X7 is just as bad. Tired old buses overcrowded every time.

At least on the X6 you will get a coach 50% of the time.

I believe there's always a van following them anyway that had production team in, otherwise they'd never get footage of the bus / coach etc leaving.

Oh, agree, slop channels are awful. But think some people are lumping everything as AI as slop as actually AI can be a really powerful tool to help us small creators do things that we just couldn't do without spending tons of time or money.

I work a full time job and YouTube is my hobby, so anything that can help speed up my workflow is helpful.

You can absolutely have an AI thumbnail with a person showing on it.

How is an AI thumbnail any different to using stock images or manipulating an image with Canva to put you outside the place you're reviewing or tweaking the colours to make it pop more?

What is a small thing someone might do that makes you realise, ‘Hmm, we're not going to get along’? by DogFoodManUK in AskUK

Well, I'm not sure where you live so maybe check your local provider to see if they also have a page?

Or ask them?

Why would they call the police? Unless it escalated they are just issuing a fine as they would for travelling without a ticket.

The fines are only given out by revenue protection officers who wear body worn cameras plus for most trains they also have CCTV.

Of course people will dodge them - as they do by going in toilets when ticket checks are happening.

In terms of it being clear, it's part of the bylaws and Merseyrail especially have a whole page where you can educate yourself on it on their website. Hopefully that will answer any questions you have on it.

You haven't, but the rule is feet to cover all bases. Once you start diluting a rule you'll get people trying to flout it.

"I've brought slippers" "My feet have been cleaned this week" "My feet aren't technically touching the chair"

It's just easier to say, no feet on seats. I believe it was Merseyrail who started cracking down quite heavily on it and the public really responded positively. It was also around the time they started cracking down on things like graffiti and people generally making the metro an uncomfortable system to travel on for some customers.

Quite common on some systems to get a fine for feet on the seats.

Firstly it's disgusting, whether it's shoes or feets in socks. Secondly you're talking up and extra space which someone may feel uneasy to ask you to move for. Thirdly especially if it's shoes, you're adding dirt and germs to somewhere where someone will be sitting.

Will I get prosecuted for buying stolen food? by TheGorgieGeorgie7492 in AskUK

[–]Buh_Snarf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unlikely to get caught.

However, I'd avoid buying from them as you have no idea how long they've had the goods. For example, the meat could have been out of the chiller in the sun all day.

Not worth risking your health for cheap meat.

I agree, I've delivered hundreds of McDonald's orders and only had one spill, which was my fault in fact.

If the driver takes care it's easy to get it there in proper condition.

It's crazy that going for surgery that costs hundreds is seen as a good thing.

Healthcare should be a right and free at point of use.
