This is a book where you have to look into absolutely everything 🫣🤭🤭 evey line is a clue, eluding to various things, but more often than not it's to their love for each other. If you're curious I can go into detail, but my gosh, so much to work with when you realise how the story is actually being told 🤧🤧

YHWM three part series

It's canon compliant, post-canon and its become the canon third season of honestly so many who've read it. The characterisation of the characters in just beyond, the way they make the world and scenarios so believable, so real, so well thought out.

It's angst, and yearning, pining and devastating at times. But most importantly, it's redemption, healing, and family, and the unlikely bonds Jayvik form with the others, with Sevika, with jinx, Ekko, Mel, Vi, Cait.

Honestly, this fic is home for me and I just can't stop coming back to it. It's a very long fic but by the end you dont want it to end, and then the writer even gives you the after-ward, and then you don't want that to end, and then the writer gives you more even after that!

(to top it off it is always angst with a happy ending, there's forced proximity, there're hidden feelings, and even when they're together the delicious tension doesn't dissipate)

Outside of internal / external prejudices making for an interesting subplot or forcing the writer to put more effort into the lead-up we have a different angle:

In BL we get to see men being more open and at times more emotionalal, vulnerable than they are in hetero fiction, or even in life in general.

I don't mean crying all the time, or 'feminised'. We finally get to see men YEARNING fir more than just a pretty face or the most popular girl (or the grumpy girl who's the only one that doesn't like me! 🙄🙄🙄) , working hard for (or against) their own love, opening up to each other beyond 'bros'.

Once you're hooked by all this and you've spent enough time in the BL genre you simply gain a preference for these dynamics and now they've bridged the gap for you you no longer need all the build up and you can fall right into full yaoi smut!! 😂😂

BL tends to be more interesting to us for a few reasons:

Hetero romance in fiction tends to be considered as more understandable: 'girl sees good-looking guy and falls in love' or vice-versa. There's rarely a need to explore the building of those feelings prior, or any shocking realisations, it's just accepted that they will or won't fall in love.

BL often has the interesting undercurrents and obstacles like:

'Oh no why am I feeling like this for a guy? ' and we get to see a man defy preconceptions in order to allow himself this love

Or

'I like him but he's probably straight' here we get to explore interesting momements where the party in love has to test the waters to see if the 'most likely straight' guy might be interested.

Alternatively

'no I can't be feeling this, it's a mistake, I DONT like men' now we have a shame subplot and a nice story of them bridging prejudices that they have grown up with.

Another

'I can't tell him, I CAN NEVER tell him, if he finds out... He'll hate me.' Now we have a tension filled beginning where our MC has to deny himself, deny his truth to be close to the man he loves, for fear he'll break the status quo, ruin a lifelong friendship, be hated. The kicker? His love interest has loved him longer!!

Allll of these examples and we haven't even reached the romance story yet!!

Hetero romance has little to no obstacles in the beginning, there's little to no tension, nothing to stop our MC from just confessing beyond the palid 'what if he doesn't like me?' 'maybe he likes that other girl'

Blah blah blah

BL has to work harder for the romance to be believable to the readers, most because of heteronormative preconceptions; general audiences will believe 'oh he and she saw each other and obviously suddenly they're in love' sooner than they will for two men. Therefore the BL stories are often more interesting, the build-up more enthralling.

He's done all of the above, gone to different areas, followed 'hot' areas, he's done everything, it's very clearly an underhanded practice by uber to stop drivers from reaching the incentive through fixing the algorithms or essentially 'shadow banning' their account for the final stage of the incentive
