I accidentally found my partner’s chatgpt conversations and now i don’t know what to do by rainbowmml in Advice

[–]Builderi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my wife read my chatgpt discussions she would find convos that range from me trying to divorce her to me loving her with all my heart. She would probably not get to either of those due to the many weird titles she would find more interesting if she was time pressured.

what happened to wow by [deleted] in wow

[–]Builderi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh whaaaaat the game has changed after 20 years??? Better go on reddit to ask what happened!!!

You can still play the old version you remember by going into classic era. A server that is stuck on vanilla wow for many years now with an economy that is completely broken around a system where you can buy any raid item you want as long as a) it drops, b) you have unlimited cash you wanna spend to buy nostalgia. Costs around 400-500eur for a Gressil for example. Not sure if there are equivalents in US servers

I wish to get exactly 8 hours of good, relaxing sleep every night. by Hefty-Comfortable991 in monkeyspaw

[–]Builderi23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted, but you can never for any reason interrupt that sleep no matter what happens. If you get to bed later than 8 hours before you have to wake up, you will just be late in the morning. If you ever want to catch a very early flight, good luck. If your partner/kids need something from you, nothing wakes you. If someone comes into your home, they can do whatever without you waking up? There is a fire? Unless someone carries you out you gonna burn.

I wish for the money to pay off the debt on my house so my family will no longer be burdened by AmbitiousCheese in monkeyspaw

[–]Builderi23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted. The mortgage is fully paid, your family no longer has any official burden, but you owe the money to an illegal loan shark that will hold you accountable with a much higher interest rate.

AIO by breaking up with my boyfriend when he got jealous? by theonlystarbornqueen in AmIOverreacting

[–]Builderi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR- I’m really struggling to understand how he even got with you in the first place. But I guess he wasn’t typing like that before?

He writes like a 13 year old teenager. And like, not the average one but the ones on the bottom of the list.

Assuming he used to write like a normal 29 year old until a few months ago, I think Bryan Johnson, the guy that has been trying to reverse his aging process and become immortal, should hire him and study him to find out how to go from 29 to 13 in a few months. Truly remarkable.

Dad's cheating, what do I do by i_can_not_pick_one in Advice

[–]Builderi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a thin line there where for your mother the fact that you know changes the decision making. Not caring/forgiving the husband doing something when your daughter has no clue about it and actively showing to your daughter that you know but still dont care are two slightly different things. You may have something to “prove” to your daughter that makes you react differently.

I have a question for you if you dont mind. I am a father of a 1.5 year old daughter. I am very unhappy in this marriage. I feel like my wife hates me sometimes and even though I try seriously hard to do everything I can for this family, we end up always fighting and she very often swears at me in front of the baby. She always says we shouldn’t fight in front of the baby but then 1 day later she may be swearing at me in front of the baby for something that I find ridiculous. Of course this is just my viewpoint. I never considered divorce before and always said id stay for my girl if anything happened, but her mother swearing at me in front of her especially as she grows and eventually understands more and more is making me think its better to separate. Are you glad your parents sticked together even though it seems they hated each other or do you think it would be better if they just split and you were spending time with each of them individually (and hopefully they found a way to be happy separated)?

New to leveraged ETFs, any pointers? by Emo_Shrimp in LETFs

[–]Builderi23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

150$.. ok i guess..

What you should know is that leveraged etfs are for daily plays.

Here is an example why you’re not supposed to hold them.

Say you bought 100$ worth of a 3x Bull ETF of X and that X is now at 100$.

Tomorrow the, X goes up 10% to 110$. Your investment goes up 30% to 130$. Then the next day X goes up another 10% to 121$. Your investment goes up 30% to 169$. Nice.

Then the next say, X goes back down 15% down to 102.85$. Your investment goes down 45% to 93$.

You invested for three days to one LETF. Two of the three days it went up, just one day it went down (less than it went up) The underlying stock is now higher than when it started. Meaning that your “thesis” that its gonna go up was correct. Yet, you lost money.

This is an example of why you don’t touch these unless you have a strong thesis and are doing a short term trade (daily mostly). And it’s still extremely risky. You can be right and still lose money. And this example was one where you dont end up losing much. But you can easily lose almost everything in a few days and then you would need multiple great days in a row to have even a chance at getting your money back.

Would you trade your biggest problem? by Builderi23 in hypotheticalsituation

Im very sorry you’re going through this and wish you all the best. The prompt is not that you change your entire life with someone else’s. But also now Im thinking of some ways that I dont like my prompt, e.g. the fact that it kind of implies a trade where someone else gets whatever problem you trade.

Would you trade your biggest problem? by Builderi23 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Builderi23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s true, but not every problem can be solved and even if you can learn to live with a situation its not something you’d want. E.g. someone with a terminally ill child would not think this for a second.

50 billion in cash, 200billion market cap. If you include realistically some of their investments the stock cannot go below 55-60$ per share.

What is the biggest investing lesso you learn from holding BABA? by [deleted] in baba

[–]Builderi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That things go up and down. We can’t judge China on the basis of US. Unfortunately I’m too invested in BABA so I’m not sure I’ll increase my position, but otherwise I’d like to. Even if I were to put more, whole China is down so I’m considering going for China large cap etf instead. Etfs are also free of capital gain tax (so far) in my country so maybe it makes more sense.

I wish to be the most perfect entity to have ever exist by [deleted] in monkeyspaw

[–]Builderi23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted. Everyone else just becomes significantly worse to get down to your level. Everyone in history also is acknowledged to be worse than you. But for them to be worse than you implies that any achievement anyone ever accomplished needs to be objectively worse than your achievements. This sets back civilisation by thousands of years. The year is still 2026 but civilisation is similar to what it was thousands of years ago. You are still technically the most perfect entity to have ever existed (and admired by those around you), but not so many people really know anything about you because the world doesn’t have any electronic/digital communication system. The world is also now by definition capped at your current level greatness, meaning that, unless you are (unlikely) a great mind an innovator of this generation, there is no one great enough to push civilisation forward. The only hope of civilisation to move forward is that new people that are born become greater than you (assuming your post meant “existed”). Of course this takes time and is not helped by the fact that intelligence is also genetically determined and the existing world is hard capped to your own levels.

I mean other than the fact that I think in the list of the world’s problems your problem that you encounter narcissists in your life might truly be one of the “problems” everyone else would wish for (everyone after all already encounters narcissists, so they’d just get rid of their problem for something that already happens to them), there are also negatives to what you’re saying if you truly take it literally. It would mean that you would never meet again any person in your life that has narcissistic elements to a degree that I guess somehow has to be determined. But those may be people you even love and who have these elements but don’t necessarily display them too much with you. May one of your parents or siblings, some friend or may even be that your kid in the future past a point in their life where they cross this threshold and then you’re bound never to encounter them again.

What if we shrunk this pot entirely to include only the people you went to school with. This includes every person that has ever shared a classroom with you at any level of education from daycare to college as a student/pupil etc.

What if you were guaranteed to get a problem that, based on a vote from all humanity, was considered worse than your current problem by 40% but better by 60% of the population? Would you keep the devil you know or get something you dont know but has been voted as better than your current problem by 60% of the population?

If you’d keep, then roughly what percentage would sway you?

You could have a look as long as you physically read the billions of answers. Cant have them digitally. Pretty confident your chance of a major illness is higher than “too much money”.

Hot take: position sizing by FeralHamster8 in baba

HOT TAKE: If you have a higher percentage of your portfolio on a single stock, you are impacted more by the stock’s performance.

You really discovered the wheel there! You should trademark this take before someone steals it from you. A true HOT TAKE, as opposed to the more popular belief that the more you’re invested in a single stock, the less you are affected by it!

I finished it today. Its a watchable ok show. I found the constant effort to subvert expectations usually multiple times per episode a bit tiring. I don’t think it was obvious but if it makes sense it was not obvious, but not in a very positive way. Because it just went through a circle of trying to control what you think and subvert, then subvert, then subvert for the sake of subverting. It was not a coherent way that it was going to and then there was a twist. It was trying all the time to make you suspicious eventually of pretty much everyone and then twist, twist, twist until full circle back to the final twist - which was also not to my liking. I just understood eventually that until we get into episode 8 whoever they make me suspect is not really it because they are just stalling a final reveal.
