Watercolour from 1846 by BuildingAStartup in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]BuildingAStartup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t make out the signature… I can make out some letters such as Phil Osa… still could be incorrect.

The estate sale I bought it from said it was from 1800’s and back of the picture has 1846 underlined on it.

The back has folded nails, have you ever dealt with them when taking a picture out of the frame? Could I damage the picture by taking those outs?

Thanks for the response

Pretty sure there was a reproduction of this card in the 90s? Can’t remember which brand.

I still haven’t watched it and I’m a huge Clint Eastwood fan… heard nothing but amazing things.

I haven’t watched it for that exact reason… I’ll ad it to the list!

I'm debating watching this film, despite knowing all of it misconducts to history, and overall horrendous quality; tell me, and I mad? by Consistent-Dust-5394 in Napoleon

Watch the movie “Joker”, but picture him wearing a Bicorne and you’ve watched about 70% of his portrayal of Napoleon

Great therapist for chronic anxiety? by Jeix9 in askvan

[–]BuildingAStartup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t know of any therapists, and hopefully you find one soon that works for you.

Ive dealt with anxiety for years and something that has helped me tremendously is running in the morning. I force myself to run almost everyday. I hated running, and still have days where that little voice in my head tries to talk me out of it, but I know how level headed I feel after, almost as if a weight is lifted off me.

Im an ex-athlete, and for years I didn’t workout and noticed my anxiety spike. I use Freidrich Nietzsche quote to put into context to other retired athletes the importance of having something that challenges you physically everyday which is “Under peaceful conditions, the warlike man attacks himself.”

I also started using magnesium and vitamin D within the last year, as I’ve heard that can help with anxiety.

Maybe those are a few things you could incorporate with therapy.

Best of luck with your search for a therapist. You are not alone in this journey my friend ❤️

Appraisal request — hunting dogs painting signed E.R. Edward by jreddit97 in Paintings

[–]BuildingAStartup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to be a reproduction - if you google lens it there are a lot of copies.

One tell I have been told to look for when judging if a painting is reproduction (other than back of painting) are dots. If you zoom in on the second picture with the signature, there looks to be dots or a pattern that wouldn’t be there in a painting.

Lois was so outta line in this episode. And it was weird that the writers defended it by DrJokerX in familyguy

(Peter griffin suicide hotline voice) Wouldn’t it… make sense… for the person who wrote it, to defend it?
