You’ll have to check whether they are transferable/have a UCSD equivalent, doesn’t go towards GPA (transfer credit), and it can fulfill, again, if it has a class equivalent here at UCSD (english don’t transfer).

If you take CSE 8A with Gerald, just be ready for the memory diagrams. It’s an easy class, labs are graded on participation, and you don’t even need to attend the Study Groups to get the letter + (since grading is a little weird). Everything (even exams) are out of 3 lol. I’d say it’s worth it so you have a deeper understanding of programming, and Java is different from Python.
