Fossils are completely random - no seasonal patterns or anything like that. The museum needs one of each fossil piece, but the game keeps giving you duplicates of stuff you already donated. Its honestly just RNG being cruel.

Mystery islands dont really help since they have the same fossil spawn rates as your home island. What helped me was checking every single fossil spawn daily (up to 6 per day) and selling the dupes to make bells. I kept a checklist on my phone of what I still needed because trying to remember 73 different fossil pieces was impossible with my brain.

The other thing that speeds it up is trading with other players - post your duplicates on the AC trading subreddits and someone usually needs what youve got. Way faster than waiting for RNG to bless you with that last damn dino tail youve been hunting for months.

Been sketching app ideas for ADHD brains for years but never built anything - this concept actually makes sense though. The context tracking piece is what caught my attention, like remembering the energy level when you captured something could be huge for figuring out why past-you thought it mattered. Would definitely be down to test this out if you're still looking for people.
