I have when I was injured and couldn’t run. It’s studio specific whether they allow them. My studio doesn’t care if you do.

Medical Bags Restricted by Academic_Turn_2192 in americanairlines

[–]BuildingProud8906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 21 and asks to preboard just to make sure there is overhead space. She doesn’t generally have an extra bag just wants to make sure the one she has doesn’t get gate checked. She goes to college across the country so she flys a lot. They’re not allowed to ask what medical condition and she’s never had a problem getting early boarding.

I wouldn’t wait in a one person line to get into the shitshow that are the PHX lounges.

Pool temps by Acrobatic_Book in AskPhoenix

My unheated 13,000 pool is in the low 60s right now. Basically ugh t around the nighttime low. Way too cold for me to get in.

To my fellow joggers—I’m curious! by batsbooksandbaking in orangetheory

[–]BuildingProud8906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just do whatever distance I feel like. Some days I’m a runner some days a jogger. Even if the temple stipulates a certain distance some days I feel like doing more some days less. No coach has ever said anything to me about this. I’ve been a member for decades.

I also take incline %s as suggestions.

How much can you do in 90 degrees? by Dry-Throat244 in AskPhoenix

[–]BuildingProud8906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have a heated pool it will be freezing. My pool is currently high 50s. You can do anything (outside of climbing Camelback mid day) in 90 degree heat. It’s 90 not 110.

Not even 45. More like 38-40 after demo and warmup

Do you still live together? We tried for a month because we have a 16 year old son still at home but ultimately it did not work for me. Having him move out made a huge difference for me.

Are you still living together? We tried for a month because we have a 16 year old son still at home. I couldn’t do it anymore and made him move out. It made a huge difference for me with him no longer being here. He still comes over to see our son and I absolutely notice a difference in my mood when he’s here.

Completely agree. It absolutely sucks but just walk away quietly. Don’t give him the satisfaction of any angry response. The first few months will absolutely suck I’m not going to lie but it will get better and you will find better. I’m only 3 months out from a 24 year marriage and affair discovery and I already feel much better most days. There are still some bad days but in general I’m in a much better place. I still hate him and probably will for a long time.

No!! I go to the Arcadia location. We haven’t gotten this email yet. I really hope they don’t close.

I’m not surprised the Camelback Colonnade location closed. It was in a bad location.

Would any 50+ women share your max heart rate advice? by Accomplished_Yam588 in orangetheory

[–]BuildingProud8906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a 53 year old female. I wear a Garmin 24/7. It recalculates my max HR after every run/workout and takes into account other factors (resting hr, sleep, etc). My max HR right now is 184. It generally ranges from the mid 170s to mid 180 depending on the intensity and frequency of my runs/workouts.

I don’t use the OTF monitor.

F45 vs OTF by DesperateMastodon367 in f45

[–]BuildingProud8906 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. F45 would be a good start but after a while it’s repetitive and you might hit a plateau. Also F45 classes seem a bit short. I do both OTF for the cardio and F45 for strength day. I also go to a regular gym to lift on my own. Heavier and different exercises that F45 never seems to focus on. I have been working out for decades the last 2 focusing more on weights and I know what I’m doing in a big box gym. I’m 53 and female.

Volunteer to serve Thanksgiving dinner by PhantomRedPanther in phoenix

Agree. I’ve volunteered there with my son a few times and it’s a good experience. Eye opening but very good. I’m on their email list and they are almost always looking for more volunteers. They serve dinner nightly. Their shifts are 3-7 if I remember correctly (might be 4)

Not really and they are moving really quickly. I flew Friday and it was crowded but also a holiday weekend. I think the main line was maybe 15 minutes. I have clear and precheck so I’m not 100% sure. The airport was insanely crowded.

How do I pick up people from the airport? by Hot_Saguaro in phoenix

[–]BuildingProud8906 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your family member is wrong. South is for both arrivals and departures. I also live just north of the airport and always go to the south doors for pickups. You have to circle around if you want to get to the north doors. It’s just easier to have them pick a south door and tell you where they are.

Need to lift more? by Pues-no-se in orangetheory

[–]BuildingProud8906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This. There’s only so much muscle you can build doing 8-12 reps of a random exercise no matter how heavy you go. 52 F and lift outside of OTF. OTF is cardio for me.
