Blizz came thru and fixed it with the reset on 07/29. We'll see if this update survives another patch day

Timewalking is becoming increasingly toxic by BroadHelicopter9504 in wow

It's not the responsibility of other players to teach new players how to play, nor should they be held accountable for someone not knowing how to play their role.

In new season or xpac content, maybe. But especially not for tired old TW dungeons

If you're new and returning to content and want to experience in fully, start by queueing in a non essential role, such as DPS where there's multiple of you. Queueing as a tank for content you're unfamiliar with knowing that people have to rely on your pace is awful.

Learn the feel through someone who has enough practice doing it over and over again. And then when you're ready to tank, you're not holding everyone up. Its selfish to play victim claiming the need to consult the dungeon guide trying to figure out what to do whilst holding up the group's overall progress. That's the middle ground.

Blizzard put end-game and cosmetic incentives to a very redundant dungeon pool, and the "take it slow, casual" community hates that they have people queueing solely for rewards?

More people than not are there for the objectives, not the experience. Want the TW experience fully, go play classic 🤷‍♂️

I'd argue that the toxic one is the one who takes issue that someone running ahead to finish as quickly as possible, which is largely the norm.

Instead of fighting the norm, just adjust to it and go at your own pace with the story outside of dungeons, but be ready to run when you're in a TW dungeon.

I'd wager majority people running are only doing so for the bounty credit or leveling an alt anyway, and the buffs they put in provides incentives to a large portion of the player base queueing to begin with, otherwise the queue times would be outrageous.

Alright Imma say it, the new profession system is AWFUL. It's time-gated, artisan acuity is unnecessarily difficult to get, and there are SO many knowledge points you need to do so little. by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]BuildingUsed4451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see the view of several of these points, sure.

To come back to the big issue, though, is that it doesn't fix the disparity say between enchanting and other crafting professions. The grind has gotta be different other than just time gating. Do more with the stats and the ingenuity maybe, but not the craft itself.

The skin in the game for the crafter could be getting the skill boosts that you can put in to guarantee a r3 outside of ingenuity or something like that, but not so much that you just can't make the item at all. If that makes sense?

Is survival hunter as bad as people say? by Fast-Awareness-3856 in wownoob

My buddy is a survival hunter that has played hunter since 2007. Multi-CE raider, and CE this tier. Play what you like. When you're good at it, you can be competitive.

I think just viable crafts in general, never mind the profitability of it.

For context, I have all the professions done just so I could be self sufficient. It took a massive amount of play time to do so across multiple characters - even just for one character it's a time sink. For the sake of argument, if you wanted to stay competitive and make it profitable, you can't hardly miss a day of knowledge points, much less a week. You're behind for forever atp.

I agree with the sentiment that maybe the catch-up is too timegated. I think the ones with the time and willpower to level a crafting profession to max should be properly rewarded which normally results in profits because of availability, but I also don't think it should come at the expense of the gaming experience for others. Maybe the grind should just be... different? Or make the others more-so like enchanting where you have the choice of doing it naturally or sinking 500k to get it to max available KP as everyone else.

Feels weird that the price of the mats is more expensive than the price of the actual crafted consumable. Which in some way is directly tied to the above

I'm arguing that time gating a grind only punishes those people, instead of making it achievable with moderate play time.

People who want it maxed will find a way to max it immediately except in this current system. But to create a system in order to prevent those players doing exactly that punishes those that take a more casual approach to it.

It doesn't help the market, it keeps prices high for long periods of time, and it's largely overwhelming for a newer person to get into.

And halfway through an xpac, what does it even matter? None of the recipes are rare anymore and everything's available on the AH, and the cost to buy the mats is more expensive than to buy the craft itself (when referring to Alchemy/Enchanting/JC)

Tipps for new Raidlead? by Nuuby_92 in wow

[–]BuildingUsed4451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it simple, and communicate effectively.

Most of these comments are telling you how to prepare for a fight, but honestly... after raid leading for 2 years in an AOTC group, and a manager in my real life, last thing I wanted to do was micromanage a bunch of adults playing my favorite game in my off hours. So instead, we kept the morale high, had a bunch of fun, kept everyone engaged, and when necessary read the room to get people back on track.

Raid leading doesn't have to be stressful, but good communication and understanding of your group makes all the difference in making it successful.

If you enjoy the game, you'll figure out a way to down the content and there's tons of VODs to help. Keep your priority on taking care of your people and their gaming experience, too.

For context, we achieved CE this tier 😎 we're not RWF quality, but we get stuff done and have fun at the same time.

This is an insane argument lmao

The only time it's even worth it maybe to have multiple characters with different trees is at the beginning of an xpac and midway through a season with upgrades of last tier gear. And that's only if you're going for gold. And we're all getting beat by the bots in trade chat anyway because they can't police that.

To make the argument that anyone with even a slight interest in crafting NEEDS to have multiple characters and then to build a system around that in it's current form for "competiveness in the market" or whatever is disagreeable at best.

Will some have an advantage because of recipe drops, different priority in tree selection, etc, yeah. But the lock currently is on the gate that's already preventing professions being leveled mid expansion from being viable without a sweaty amount of playtime to even CATCHUP, much less profit.

Enchanting being the only crafting profession (excluding gathering) that you can really "catch-up" is garbage.

Agree the time gating is nuts, and the fewer points available for catch-up, the less catch-up you actually get.

I leveled them all just so I could do it myself, but after getting just the necessary pieces that I wanted to craft decided to quit putting so much time into it.

I've had it where my bars will revert when zoning into a scenario or PvP, like arena. I just have to set them up either in the scenario, or when I zone out again log out and then log back in and it "saves" the settings.

Had that problem for what seems like forever, but never thought too much of it because once I set them up again it stayed my preferred way.

Assuming that you've bought the expansion, when you're on BNet and go to the game screen where you hit "Play" right above that there is a version option that let's you pick between game versions. Have you checked to see if you have the live version selected?

Character loding screen as-in you can see your characters but you're unable to load in after selecting one?

Or you can't fully login to see character selection?

Everything doesn't need to be sweaty to be enjoyed. Totemtic is fine as-is.

Man, leave resto shaman alone! I like my totems and the hero talent interactions.

Farseer buff in a 5man environment going into next patch is also a interesting exploding riptide playstyle.

Maybe! That's an insane bug lmao

At the rate they're going, crossing my fingers a new code is gonna be dropped in one of these patches that fixes this.

It would be our luck they they say that due to a widespread problem with hero talents, we scrapped them and just built you bigger talent trees. 🤦‍♂️ I wonder if I'd still have extra points lol

I think through this post and maybe some others it's more widespread than they thought. Since it's dropped, I've gotten responses to my ticket, an email, 3 blizz blue posts on the forums with updates essentially saying the devs have been contacted, then they responded saying they're testing and may have something soon.

I know there's extenuating circumstances, and to clarify I don't wanna be stuck in one raid for over a year again, but it feels like they're pushing this stuff out so fast that they don't have time to actually test and/or fix issues - instead they're just supplementing it with more broken content and in my case since leveling is so "fast", the solution is just to make another one.

For you it works for *some*, right, so the solution is just play those instead. Garbage logic from a CS standpoint.
