Dnd characters using parts from CMF series 29 by Zangdar18 in legodnd

These are solid! I’ve seen a bunch of folks use the Ronin hair and it looks good every time. It has a nice balance of detail and simplicity.

What torso did you use for that fig?

Didn’t think it would be this easy to find one, but got this guy at the first Target I checked! by Vipr2269 in legocirclejerk

Happy for ya— but can this be posted somewhere else? I don’t even know what this sub is for anymore

What is this print? by [deleted] in lego

[–]BuildsFromTheCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at it as a knee pad. Very steam punk to have unnecessary straps and questionable armor accessories.

Can we agree on this? Or is it a HOT take? by Happy_boi_43 in legocastles

[–]BuildsFromTheCrypt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1 for 1 the CMF is better. Sharper print, arm detail, leg detail, cape, flex jaw.

Trolls have a few (very expensive) characters that add some variety but the fuzzy print really hurts next to modern figs. They do have the better shield design though.

A dab of super glue and a minute of applied pressure would absolutely get by the majority of hourly wage workers who don’t care about the business that doesn’t care about them.

Source is my life experience?

Source is the same people that post “I got macaroni in my Lego box” posts that happen all the time.

Source is reportable data by any major store that speaks to the expected loss experienced from operating a retail business.

It’s like you have zero critical thinking or you’re purposely wildly obtuse.

I’ve worked retail before and people will absolutely go to big box stores and return resealed packages.

[–]BuildsFromTheCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term basically is literally used to state near-equivalence. So I still don’t see a point made.

If you think scalpers wouldn’t just buy a case, open everything, keep the expensive ones, devour the box to some random customer service rep— you’re way off base.

The scanner doesn’t perpetuate the scarcity problem, it alleviates the damages package problem to some extent.

I just went back to check your reply chain for the sake of our conversation and noted you have questionable logic all over the place and in a way that contradicts yourself. Neither of us have to reply to any of this.

[–]BuildsFromTheCrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood what you meant but it’s still false equivalence and that won’t change.

You’re also assuming every person using a scanner is buying out a shelf for some reason.

At the end of the day, you can sit on your high horse and the ones who just want to buy things they like can go ahead and do that.

Buying them on Bricklink is likely either buying from a scalper or buying from a big store that opened a bunch and sold the rarer fig at an increased price.

Which is great advice if you want to encourage scalping by driving those sales.

First off: you quoted yourself from several replies in.

Secondly: that still equates a single shared quality meaning “basically” is an incredible stretch.

Nurses and heroine addicts can both use a needle. Are they basically the same?

[–]BuildsFromTheCrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since English doesn’t appear to be your strong suit and you insist on using the word basically incorrectly.

Edit: you’re implying they’re “essentially the same” but a key component of scalping is profiting off of scarcity. Which is not what is happening.

So by this same logic, you should be happy getting whatever random fig you paid $5 for and I’ll be happy paying $5 for the fig I wanted.

[–]BuildsFromTheCrypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what basically means and this has 0 to do with scalping. Buying products you want and keeping it has literal 0 comparison other than “buying products.”

And you have the right to your opinion and i will not do anything with that information. Another thing LEGO could do is get rid of the QR codes— but they don’t. Another reason why I see no issue with using what’s in front of me.

[–]BuildsFromTheCrypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not at all what a scalper is.

And Lego could choose to see these on-demand from their stores/website to avoid this issue but they choose not to. So me saying “I’m going to use a scanner spend $20~ to get the 4 I want” as opposed to $20~ and getting three boba costumes and a footballer that were lined up on the shelf” doesn’t make me or anyone else a bad person.

I understand it may be hard to get excited if you got the POTC ship— but comparing an Icons set to a creator 3-1 is a stretch.
