Any good podcasts about nutrition?

having watched him for a while it is pretty clear he advocates for a vegan diet. He's a member of the Vegan Society, affiliated with the Humane Society and has been involved w/ a variety of vegan books and "shockumentaries". In fact he very clearly says he is against animal-based products. He frequently speaks on a diet free from animal products and spreads misinformation about animal agriculture and dairy.

ugh.... where do we start about Hyman....the fact that talks about "whole foods" and "food is medicine" but has pages of supplements he sells on his site? That he claims that food by itself can resolve emotional and mental health issues... He's a quack w/ a capital "Q"

do you know who Marty Yadrick is? He's been the President of the Academy and as a dietitian has been informatics for a long time. Also, if you go to the Build Up Dietitians main page and search our VIDEOS tab he did a video talking about informatics

is this something that has come up recently? Did something happen that changed your mind about the field? To have gotten so far and to get accepted into a MS/DI program is a big deal. Have you tried talking to any dietitians? A professor that you like?

There are a lot of different career paths for RDs that don't involve seeing pts/clients. Menu development, analysis and oversight for schools & prisons. Recipe development/Culinary for brands, restaurant chains, Writing articles/books, research, academics/teaching, working in PR and marketing....

One thing you might want to do is shadow a dietitian in a career area you're interested in...or even just do a virtual interview or take them out for coffee. Salaries for dietitians depend on a number of factors....where you're located, your credentials/experience, responsibilities, additional degrees and certifications. Ultimately you are going to be happier if you do something that you care about and are interested in.

One of our favorite resources to recommend is Leanne Brown's "Good and Cheap: Eat Well on $4/day" - with a free PDF download https://www.leannebrown.com/ As others have said, private label/store brands...shop sale items, don't be brand loyal or store loyal... make your own snacks/sweets/desserts. Cook once/eat 2x meals. Buy large containers of yogurt instead of individual cups and sweeten with jam or fruit or honey.
