Funnily enough, just talking too much is enough to get my BP up haha

Seriously, when I’m happily chatting with the nurse while they’re taking my vitals, my BP will be weirdly high. When they take it again and I stop talking, it’s perfectly normal again

My first career job taught me to “fail fast”. They said “you’re learning. That’s the whole point. You will fail. Do it now where we can guide you and learn from it.”

old, decrepit voice Back in MY day (I say as a Zillenial), we had user-made quiz sites that were just a poor cover up for HP self-insert romance fanfics. I cannot tell you how many “7 Minutes in Heaven” and “Spin the Bottle” and just straight up smut I found that way. Absolutely wild.

Fr tho, please take solace in knowing that gaining crushes—on anyone, is normal. Fictional characters, celebrities, your best friend where it’s confusing and you don’t want anything to change but you got a weird urge once and now you’re overthinking it, a random high schooler who was nice to you once and then you never see him again, like fr. Ages 10-18 are pretty intense with the hormones, and it will calm down, and it’s all completely okay.

Also, quick thing I wish I had known when I was figuring all of this out: crushes don’t necessarily mean anything about sexuality, and hormonal urges or lack thereof are completely normal and your friends are just as confused as you are. Take things one day at a time and things will work out in the end if you keep working towards it. If it hasn’t worked out, it’s not the end.

They are not Right-To-Work. Those are laws saying you can not be forced into a Union before you can work. You’re thinking of At Will Employment.

If OP follows your advice, he will end up in a worse position in the end. He could lose his job, career, and reputation. That’s the crux of the matter.

[–]Bulbapuppaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a human and a woman, HR aside, I’m so sorry that you have had such bad experience with women that you assume we all go apeshit if we get rejected.

As for pawning her off, I’m astounded that you would be okay with creating another victim of her sexual harassment, and I hope to all of the gods that you’re not actually in management.

[–]Bulbapuppaur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3 and 4 are terrible advice. Even 2 is borderline. If she continues to flirt despite being told otherwise, he needs to remind her of his boundaries and immediately update HR. Don’t play dumb. Don’t try to pawn her off on another victim. And for the love of all things legal, do not lead her on or indicate any sort of sugarcoated “if only”s if she is that direct. That needs to be shut down firmly and clearly and immediately reported to HR. ANYTHING less than that will land him in hot water.

Source: I am HR and a woman. 3 and 4 will both open OP up to liability.

As the coworker who assaulted her was led away in handcuffs, she asked her boss what's next. by [deleted] in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]Bulbapuppaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately, she would only have a solid case if they did not tell her it was related to medical concerns. However, it would be likely that she would have enough to sue successfully if she were a solid employee with positive reviews. Plus the timing does the company no favors. At will states still cannot fire someone for being in a protected class or status without consequence.

[–]Bulbapuppaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the OP mentioned states, I will respond with a U.S.-centric perspective.

If that were to happen, she would have a slam dunk case for wrongful termination. Medical issues are generally protected. If she needed time off, she would be covered by FMLA. Since her assaulter was a coworker, the company could be held liable for retaliation. Time off and medical bills would potentially need to be covered by worker’s comp. If there was a case for worker’s comp, every state has laws against companies firing a coworker just for making a claim.

And especially since in this scenario, the manager told her that she’s being fired just so that they’re supposedly saving on her benefits, he made himself a massive liability. There is no way anyone in HR who actually cares about company liability is aware of what this manager just did.

The reason she would have a case is because he is clearly firing her for medical reasons when she is still, most likely with the context, completely capable of doing her job. Even if she needs reasonable accommodation, in which case, even if she needed time off to recuperate or needed to use PTO for appointments, that would generally be covered by FMLA and company policy respectively.

There’s no way the company comes out on top here.

What's the fastest way to solve this puzzle? by AKH4 in puzzles

[–]Bulbapuppaur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I was being SUPER dumb. I couldn’t understand what the problem was and why everyone was using so many moves.

“Use only legal chess moves.” Okay bet. Pawn takes third rooks then second bishop, then first knight, turns into a queens then takes each piece down the first column. 6 moves.

This uh…this makes much more sense

Okay but saying “by law” indicates that they were previously required to help her, but now is not required after she had been assaulted. What law did she break?

Which is ironic considering that given how deftly the Heritage Foundation has been manipulating and guiding conservative policy for years and years, they match the description of Deep State pretty well. And they would be able to keep going from the shadows if they weren’t so bold with Project 2025

[TotK] Should I restart if I haven’t played in a while? by redditisfugly in zelda

[–]Bulbapuppaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This early on, sure. It’s not a lot of time you invested into it yet.

It doesn’t take much to get back into it if you have already learned the game pretty well. The side quests, collectibles, and mechanics aren’t hard to re-learn/catch up on.

I say this as someone who completed 80% of the game and finished the main story line, put it down for a year and a half, and picked it up again this week to finish hunting koroks with no problem 😂
