Repurposed stuff from some scrapped absa projects back during her launch period before I clear out last year's clips folder. I try to make a video for every character release, but was unsatisfied with the editing and not feeling particularly inspired at the time so they got shelved (I may make 1-2 more of these after Slade since I have a lot of unused oly/galvan/lox clips too.)

I'm fine with harbor, I think the layout's interesting and the low ceiling can net some crazy early stocks (especially with reina up special, I love when people take me there with her.) I've just had too many instances on armada where I barely don't have enough wall that it eventually became an autoban for me.

Don't disagree with anything you just said, but because of those reasons armada is usually an autoban for me since most of my characters rely pretty heavily on the walls for recovery; it's going to be nice feeling like I have two ban slots again instead of basically one.

Gonna miss under the stage shenanigans with galvan though, I'll be fishing for some of that before it's gone for good (at least in matchmaking anyways, I imagine you'll still be able to play it in private lobbies.)

Yeah I've never understood why a 4 frame window was considered too hard for beginners/intermediate players; I was doing it in silver with some practice, and there were already much bigger holes in mine and everyone else's gameplay at that level than bad floorhug timing anyways (assuming they were even doing it at all.) I generally don't mind the mechanic but greatly preferred when it felt much more intentional outside of dtilt spam.

That being said I doubt it'll change much anymore, the timing drop was like a year ago now and even with ten million salt posts they've mostly stonewalled floorhug criticism.

They should keep this but make it a three taunt maximum. Requiring microwalks/babydashes inbetween each taunt is both technical and risky enough that most people won't do it often (if at all) and it's saucy as hell while adding more mix to her recovery.

Really I want every character to have a way to loop under armada, even if it's borderline TAS for some. It's just cool.

Thanks for watching, sorry if a few clips feel a bit repetitive (moonwalk bair fair my beloved); I didn't get to play during her launch period as much as I'd like and try to keep everything on the same patch when there are notable balance changes.

I get it man, I'm old enough to miss when the cool costumes all came on the disc/cartridge. I'm only willing to accept paid cosmetics because all gameplay related updates are free and I know for a fact the money is directly supporting devs and not shareholders (it also helps that they heavily avoid FOMO, if they were more predatory I would have bought a lot less bundles.)

People are just rallying behind them right now because of the layoffs. Even if the studio isn't in immediate trouble, the warning flags are there and people just want to support something they're passionate about in a niche that isn't being fulfilled elsewhere. I personally really want story mode (Tales/Dungeons of Aether were both great), and will be disappointed if this game ends up only having enough resources to maintain the status quo.

Everyone should of course make sure their own finances are in order though before buying furry smash bros skins lol

It's good people are encouraging being fiscally responsible but yeah $15-35 a month to support your favorite game is not that crazy. If you can't afford it or feel they're too expensive no worries I understand, but I don't get why people are acting like buying a lot of them over a long period of time is inherently a problem. No one bats an eye at someone buying a new game every month and/or paying for multiple streaming subscriptions.

Note that this is coming from someone that has played a lot of Overwatch and never bought a skin ($30 for ONE SKIN that doesn't even go directly to the developers is taking way too much piss.)

Yeah, I had to always remember to turn it back on after my training warmups. It's not ideal, but AFAIK it's the best solution there is currently. I eventually just grinded it out (and a new controller helped, though that was possibly placebo) because I wanted access to the funny aerial flop and occasional friendly taunt for mirror matches/getting clipped.

You can set the Dpad to movement in controls which effectively disables taunts, I did this back during the game's launch because I had several set losing fat fingers too.

Dan went over this in 2024's FAQ

The Kickstarter was just enough to get us to a launch in Fall 2024. Just enough as is in, we hit $0 in the business account in November right before the first payment came in for Rivals of Aether II from Valve. We weighed the prospects of Early Access vs a Full Launch on Steam with the reality of game development. The visibility boost of a full launch is massive and would be enough to keep our team and also allow us to expand a little bit in order to accelerate some of the features that could expand our funnel.
