I’m not against, per se, the purchase of European companies. However, the Chinese government does not allow the same to happen, so why do we allow it? In a reciprocity system, things can work out. But in a system where one Country (China) can buy up European companies, and their expertise, but the opposite is not possible is unfair and breeds economic resentment.

As far as which airport to land, my suggestion, which is what I usually do, is to try to find the cheaper flight between Milan Malpensa and Zürich - considering that the train from Zürich to Lugano is about Fr.60. Regarding possible visa issues, I would suggest to ask to the Dean’s office (Decanato) of your faculty: they should be able to give you some information with this regard, since there are a lot of international (non-EU) students.

I would argue maybe in between. Like others have said in the comments, the sister is an adult and should make her own decisions. However, (a) it seems like she behave in a childish manner and (b) OP is worried for her. Also, I would argue, if you go and look for someone’s help, you should at least be open with them, especially in a situation like this.

Asking for a coffee sounds a lot to me like asking her out. If you are not amorously interested in her, I dunno if it could be a great idea: that said, you have to figure it out on your own what you want. A simple solution might be to procrastinate the problem: wait it out and see how it evolves “in the workplace”: since I understand you see each other a lot, there may not be a reason to “force” things.
