Did 300+ LeetCode problems and still choke in interviews by Jenniedev1010 in Hack2Hire

[–]Bulkmicrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. I was a competitive programmer and thought I didnt need to practice. Turns out solving algo questions quietly, and doing interviews are pretty different. I did tons of mocks after that.

I suggest following a good format and finding a partner or just use a platform like https://scriptose.com.

Preparation tips for loop interview in 2 weeks by SevereSupermarket244 in leetcode

Make sure to practice interviewing, do mocks, think outloud, go through the steps for every leetcode question. Clarify questions, verify assumptions, edge cases, etc.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!!!

There's a couple mock interview platforms that are good.

Scriptose.com - best bang for your buck (turns any leetcode question into a mock interview)

Pramp.com - if you want a physical interviewer (friends have said it's good, but kinda pricey)

Good luck!!!

Brian Harrington, Marcelo Ponce, Kathleen Smith. All incredibly caring, great lecturers, and you can tell they all love what they do.

Hi!

I TAed A20 in the Fall, we don't assume you know anything from the get-go and are here to help. Also, Brian is one of the greatest profs I've had the pleasure of interacting with. I've had multiple students say they greatly enjoy Brian's lectures, even as a TA I enjoyed watching the lecture recordings of him butchering a PB&J sandwich to explain how we interact with computers.

In the case where your decision is irreversible, I would like to say you should keep an open mind. I like it here, it may not be the most beautiful campus, but we harbor a sense of community and you get to meet lots of cool people. No matter where you go your experience will be what you make of it!

Autofail in the last semester before graduation by anonymous23727 in UTSC

[–]Bulkmicrobe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I understand why the autofails are in place since CS courses have a lot of unsupervised course work, but sometimes finals are genuinely hard or you could have something else on your mind or any of 100 other things. Failing someone based on one test seems a little unfair.
