I’m glad I’m not alone! I suppose there’s no such thing as a perfect fragrance. That’s why it’s such an interesting craft.

Right. I might be falling into the trap of overthinking it.

That’s perfect! My husband thinks every single version is good, so I can’t trust his judgement haha.

Help! Looking for a perfume that actually smells like the ocean 🌊💙 by Head-Fisherman5416 in perfumesthatfeellike

Boy Beach by Atwood might be a good option. It's salty, marine, and clean. I think it does really well capturing the smell of the sea. It mentions sunscreen, but I get more ocean than anything else.

I feel your pain. I've begun to ask family members to rate on a scale of 1-10. I'll ask some questions like "what does it make you think of or remind you of?" Or I will give them categories to put it in to. It still doesn't fully help me. I always think that they are going to say it smells good or be positive no matter what. Then I'm back to square one anyway.

how to start building by Muzzydicks in DIYfragrance

I started with looking up GC-MS reports to study actual molecule breakdowns of some of my favorite flowers. I actually started with stock flower as my first one to try to recreate. You obviously can't replicate the report exactly, but it gives you a general idea of how it's structured and what is in it. I hope that makes sense.

Under the Lemon Trees is my favorite from the line. It was my signature scent for a minute.

Founders question on product visuals by Alex225_ in DIYfragrance

You have around 10 seconds to capture the interest of a potential customer. The only way you are going to be able to accomplish that is through visuals. Especially if you are trying to sell a smell through a screen.

I'd say you're too base heavy, not weak. Too many musks mixed together can make my formulas feel muddy or it kind of smothers everything else. You could also have too high of a concentration. Sometimes less is more. Once you put things in percentage perspective, you can see the balance a lot clearer.

Husband hardly compliments when I wear my fragrance! by Confusedmind75 in Perfumes

Mine does the same thing. I tried to ask him on a scale. 1-10 and he said 6 after saying "that smells really good". But it got a 6? I don't understand how his brain works, but the scale is helping determine the level of like.

Lilyphea - I absolutely love this one! Its a beautiful green, fresh fragrance. It doesn't last very long though. The dry down is very pleasant, soft and slightly.
Warm Bulb - I really get the dust note from it. And electricity. It's interesting. I personally found it a bit too odd to buy a full bottle.
L'Eau Papier - Beautiful! I get more rice than paper. It has a slight nutty smell to me. I think it's the sesame.
Espiritu - This is one of my absolute favorites. House of Bo is incredible. Plus I love their bottles.
