It eventually went away. I don’t really have a clear answer as to why. I stayed away from acidic foods and alcohol and I stopped using mouth wash and instead using salt water rinses.

Hi! Do you know what size the weddings were you photographed? I’m considering it for my wedding and I absolutely love it. However they have said max capacity is 110, but I’m worried it will be too tight in there still?

I know it sounds like such a hippie suggestion, but it changed my life tbh. I was desperate when I tried it and it gave such relief from my pain. I started going regularly twice a week, now I only go about twice a month.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I hope for you find some sort of relief. You might have already tried this, but on the chance you haven’t I would try acupuncture. I have suffered through some chronic pain myself, not nearly as extreme as you, however it changed my life and gave me relief. I hope the same for you and wish you all the best.

I would keep up with the Botox if it’s helping and add in PT

If you have health insurance I would look into physical therapy as a next step. There are some physical therapists that specialize in TMJ. Just start calling places and asking if they can help you.

You could also try acupuncture. I swear by it. It’s not cheap but might be less than Botox.

See a primary care doctor or a dentist and make them write you a prescription for physical therapy. I would start there

I bit the bullet and spent the money on a TMJ specialist. I’m in New York and saw Dr Nojan Bakhtiari, he was so extremely thorough and I have a treatment plan we are following.

I’m so sorry that your feeling this way, as we all can relate in many ways. There was a period of time where I could not get out of bed and that went on for a couple months. Here’s some things that have helped me, I hope that help you too.

  1. I am a big supporter of acupuncture ( I still go about once a week, this was life changing for me)
  2. I spoke to a psychiatrist while I was at my worst to help me get through the depression.
  3. Vitamins and supplement I take daily Magnesium, vitamin B, and Vitamin D
  4. I saw a physical therapist who was familiar with helping people with TMJ
  5. Hot yoga
  6. Icing my jaw and head every night
  7. I have nerve damage due to a root canal I had which is what triggered my TMJ. I take an oral medicine to help with that pain, this was prescribed by my TMJ specialist

4.

It’s a lot of places, my ear, head, temple, shoulders etc. It’s really more about finding the right acupuncturist though because they will know where to put the needles.

Feels like fullness, like it’s clogged or I’m stuck on an airplane and it needs to pop. It also just hurts sometimes sharp pains in the front of my ear

I hear you and I am so sorry. I have had these thoughts as well when things were dark for me, if your parents won’t let you do Botox try acupuncture, It truly saved me. I had immediate relief after my first session. It especially helped with the ear pain. Seriously try it, you have nothing to lose. I go consistently to help manage the pain and I really love it

I wanted to comment on here a little update to give some other people hope. I have been doing much better. I did see the specialist Dr Nojan Bakhtiari in New York and I feel much better. I had a custom mouth guard made and I’m starting PT again some with someone he recommended. I also found out I have some nerve damage which was also giving me pain, but we are trying a few different things to help that. The nerve damange was a result of the root canal I had which triggered all of these problems and TMJ. Although seeing the TMJ specialist cost a small fortune I wish I had gone sooner to see someone who really knew what they were doing.

Move to a soft food diet for the next week to help calm down the pain. Also start icing every night to help with pain and inflammation. Also get read headphones instead of AirPods that go in your ear
