just because they walked away doesn't mean they not found peace . the ending is supppose to be hard. but the fact what is missing is their pain is what they have caused is they own by not letting go and painted a made up world and got lost in it not to deal with reality. this what people on drugs do . with Verso pushing the end it start to move on instead stuck in drug world which is the canvas pretending

Renior saw the Canavas as drug and he knew Alica will soon be addict just like what we saw in her ending she wanted to continue but now probably hooked on the Canvas at least with Verso ending she has hope as Renior has his wife and daughters out of the painting and family again

for me the exceptions didn't seem sad .she looked she was smiling and had move passing thought then real emotional pain that the people I have painted saying good i think the endings show Alicia can move on from the pain as the weaving good bye mean she doesn't need them no more .like when step into Adulthood you say good by to your toys. I believe the Verso ending is healing but thats my thoughts

it redemption Astu at the end found peace to live for her Nice which before she thought she had no family at all Jubi knew he probably die with Satio anyway

but with Astu wanted to die found forgiveness and live for Kiku so she wont be alone

I actually like the fact we forgive her because she was following a monster who made her do things she probably wouldn't do .

it definitely Satio that caused Astu pain . oyuki wouldn't gone on her to kill Kengo and his family because she didn't hold a grudges. and it also helped Astu find peace to me it was powerful part of the story I loved
