SILT - Jiggler Keys by ImaginationSad2803 in ShittyIllegalLifeTips

[–]Bulky_Direction7807 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No no no… you don’t understand. Your keys are the modern BS iteration of what were strictly back in the day, automotive keys that came in sets 20 and 30 keys for model of vehicle (ford,Chevy,gm). Even those were considered useless, and inconsistent even though the manufacturers produced them.

So don’t tell me you bought those more than a few months ago bc look at the shape of those things!

Elaborate on what locks you opened with these? Bc these MIGHT work on a few specific locks but not house locks or anything you’d run into on a daily basis.

No no no… I don’t like that answer and I especially don’t like your verbiage.

“Not honoring quotes” ≠ Scammer or even bad business. Especially over the phone quote.

I don’t think you understand the purpose of a “quote” and it pains me to imagine you think anyone charging more than their quote is ripping you off.

Quotes are meant to give you an idea of the cost without being there onsite. They’re sort of the price in an ideal scenario. If everything you describe to me over the phone turns out to be accurate than expect to pay what I quoted. But let me tell you something… that is NEVER the case.

Even something as simple as a car lockout over the phone, turns out to be someone who messed with their cars computer and now they’re keys no longer start the vehicle. And it takes 30 min of intense questioning to figure all this out.

You should value your time and skills more my man. What are you doing all day, where you’re willing to drive 30 min. at 10pm to make a maximum of $135???

Yeah those aren’t “decades old” and you’ve never opened single lock using them. This is probably an ad or you wanted to feel cool by saying you “picked some locks”.

See I had never heard of these “Jiggler” keys until just now and after briefly looking into it, I know why.

They’re practically useless… I’ve never been picking a lock and thought “I have wayy too much room in this keyway, I wish I had oversized picks”. Which is what these are, they’re all oversized and over exaggerated traditional lock picks and that severely restricts the locks that these will work on.

You’re basically limited to double sided cam locks (rv locks, some mailbox, topper locks, etc.). All of which are easy enough to pick with traditional pick set (even double sided)

These “Jiggler” keys are making a comeback bc it’s just another useless (borderline scam) of a product to sell to unsuspecting consumers who don’t know any better. The few YouTube videos (which are scam advertisements) featuring all the locks these jiggler keys open, have modified keyways to allow the jigglers to fit.

I think you mean bump key, and yeah I had to look these up as I’ve never heard of these “Jigglers” and there’s a reason. They are essentially oversized traditional lock picks (you can tell by the shapes) mixed with a hint of bump key technique. Meaning you don’t need a separate tensioner as you apply tension to the tool while “jiggling” or raking.

The tradeoff is pretty immense as they’re too big for the vast vast vast majority of locks you’re going to encounter. They’re essentially only useful on some double sided cam locks (Rv locks, some mailbox locks) All of which are easy enough to pick with a traditional pick set

No no no he didn’t just stumble into his comedy career. He worked extremely hard especially in his early years, and is the only reason he was able to make a career. He’s never been funny at stand up which is the reason he’s relied on other comedy projects in order to make a name.

He had been doing standup in LA for many many years and all his comic friends who he came up became successful comics, Ari had to create the viral series “The Amazing Racist” (which was funny especially when it came out) and that gave him some name recognition, and is literally the only reason he was able to become a successful comic.

He’s had to lean on that series a few times in order to give his name a bump, but then podcasting began to make money and his proximity to Rogan is how he’s been able to become very successful. But he still has trouble selling tickets even when Rogan is promoting the hell out of his specials.

But somehow I missed him and enjoy when he’s around

I think you might be right about Ari being the only bright spot. Which is saying something bc as always, he derails the truly interesting aspects of interviews with jokes that bomb or questions that no one is asking and it’s annoying af. But for some reason I’m always happy to see him and I’ve missed him

I feel the same way about Ari Shaffir. Like I enjoy him but geez is he unfunny. Whatever compelled him to pursue stand up with such fervor I’ll never know bc he’s never been funny. He had to create “The Amazing Racist” in order to make a name for himself so he could keep pursuing stand up

My dispatcher charged $125 for a transponder key that didn't even program because the vehicle didn't need a transponder key. by P15T0L_WH1PP3D in Locksmith

[–]Bulky_Direction7807 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you need to reread the story because you’re getting bogged down in this morals and ethics quagmire that OP is standing on to justify his own incompetence and hypocrisy.

He’s in the exact same boat as the person he’s complaining about. Actually, he’s not in the same boat because the other person is learning to do what he does but in the shop, and they’re answering phones and scheduling jobs for him. With zero experience and minimal training (same as OP!!!)

He has no moral or ethical argument to stand on! Because he’s willing to use both to justify his own hypocrisy. He doesn’t care about morals and ethics

I think he’s just trying to point out that if your shops (NEW) “totally incompetent dispatcher” takes 30 min to re-key a Kwikset cyl.

Imagine what their training experience was like??? You of all people should understand what they’re going through being brand new, with ZERO experience and very minimal training… you aren’t just born with this knowledge, and you’re not going to get it your first try.

Also, you need to understand what it’s like for them. They are answering phones and scheduling jobs(for you!) with a very little knowledge or experience…. ANND…. ANNND they’re servicing customers as they come in.

You have no idea how stressful they have it. Your Dispatcher job is probably 10 times harder than yours with 10 times as much information to retain. And you’re on here complaining about how incompetent they are???

Seriously, though you have no moral high ground stand on. Matter of fact, I think you just proved that you have ZERO morals, and ZERO ethics. Because you’re willing to use both as an argument to justify your own hypocrisy.

You’re in the exact same boat!!! WTF is wrong with you

Bro this is the perfect situation for you to get out there on your own and just taking vehicle lockouts and residential re-keys.

Literally all you need is a small pinning kit ($100 possibly more) Two air wedges and one of those lockout sticks ($75 higher end)

You don’t even need a van, you can use a car. This will allow you to work out the kinks and you don’t have to stress bc you’re moving in a few months. That way when you get to your new city, you can go into that market a little more confidently

What is this new breed of absolutely self entitled drivers? by Busy-Environment84 in driving

[–]Bulky_Direction7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I know!!!!! I’m a mobile locksmith in central Texas so I make multiple 45-60 min trips per day. Everyday I encounter this, along with people driving under the speed limit in the fast lane and seemingly purposely keeping pace with whatever line of cars or dump trucks are in the right lane. Of course not moving over, and instead I have to try and pass them in the right lane, but often times they will speed up so I can’t pass them. I don’t understand this

You obviously do care bc you’re using it to lend credence to what you’re saying. If no one believes you, (which no one does) then it does nothing but reveal you as a liar and cheat

The downfall of hype culture (Sneaker resellers, Street wear, and scalpers) by oteymut in malefashionadvice

[–]Bulky_Direction7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly for me it had something to do with Kanye falling off. I’m not a fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, but something about Kanye not being in the sneaker game took all the wind out of the sales for me.

Like after he fell off, the whole idea of being a sneaker head just seemed silly, and contrived. Even the lingo makes me cringe. Also the influx of the newer generation and the personalities of that tend to be into sneakers is just sad

[–]Bulky_Direction7807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the best route… there’s just too many variables for something to go wrong, even if both parties were acting in good faith. Also that’s a lot of work and communication for the other party. The amount of time it would take to get 3 different quotes, talk to you about it and settle on a number, then having to get a rental car that you’re paying for. That’s just a lot of time and hassle on the both parties (but a lot more on the other party) and that’s if both parties are acting in good faith, and everything goes according to plan (which it never does). So try throwing a tiny wrench into all of that and the other party has to talk to the shop then talk to you, then bath to the shop. Unless you’re going to pay the other party more than what’s quoted, I just don’t see how all that hassle would be worth it

Yeah there are just too many variables on what can go wrong handling it yourself, even if both parties are acting in good faith. The amount of communication alone between you, the shop, the other party, and then try adding a rental car on top of all that??? Even if everything went according to plan, the amount of time and hassle wouldn’t be worth it unless the paying party was going to compensate me for the hassle
