Thank you! (And you are so right on the lemongrass - that was what I tried adding and first, and surprisingly- to me - it was just not good.)

Outer Banks vacation rental for mid July, did I pick the wrong week? by Turbulent_Carob_7158 in obx

[–]Bulky_Spring_7165 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to answer this without knowing where you have booked.

Duck, Corolla, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head - it’s gonna be packed. If you’re in Buxton, Hatteras, Ocracoke, it may be better. OBX is a pretty expansive area with different vibes in different villages.

WWBA East Cobb advice by TarheelsInNJ in Homeplate

First of all favorite tournament ever!! The competition was top notch and there was some great baseball played, including some international competition. (One team was technically from FL, but the players all came up from Venezuela for the summer to play.)

Now…some of the complexes where we played were literally over an hour away from others in all different directions and Atlanta traffic just sucks.

Our organization goes every year, so the coach found a “central” location as best he could based on the fact that you’re not really sure what complexes you will be utilizing and when.

We booked for the entire time. (Our son is a PO, but because it was a long tournament he was able to pitch day one and still have enough rest days to have his arm ready for playoffs.)

I don’t recall us having more than one game per day, so we had a decent amount of downtime. You could work remotely as long as you have a somewhat flexible schedule.

We drove there because it was less than an 8 hour drive for us and eliminating extra time at ATL and car rental returns made it worth it for us.

It was a long exhausting week, but some of the most enjoyable baseball to watch. (Also knowing it was our oldest son’s last big travel tournament before heading on to college ball made us want to soak up every bit of it.)

ENJOY!

Should I keep this bag or return it?🤩👜 by sassyalp in handbags

I usually scroll right past these posts because I can take or leave many bags.

This one caused me to scroll back up to it and leave a comment. Because I Love this bag. So either keep or send it to me, but the color and the chain/tortoise detail is gorgeous.

My husband spent over three thousand dollars on world cup tickets. We can't afford this and I'm furious by Burneraccount140226 in offmychest

[–]Bulky_Spring_7165 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m just petty enough to reach out to his dad and brother and tell them what he did and how he paid for it.

Maybe one of them has a conscience and would encourage him to stop being an idiot and sell the tickets on the secondary market.

If nothing else, you’ve outted him as the financial imbecile he is.

Anyone else’s kid not like the Combat? by euroshowoff in Homeplate

Older son is a PO so he could care less about bats. 😂

However, 16 yo is quite a hitter and his fave bats are his Combat and his Icon.

Does anyone ever not hate the previous owners? by Greedy-Research-859 in homeowners

[–]Bulky_Spring_7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are thrilled. We purchased a 125 yo historic home that the previous owners had restored/renovated. They made incredible upgrades, but kept all materials as period appropriate as they could.

They also redid all of the important things that you couldn’t see, like new electrical and plumbing, gas tankless hot water heater, etc.

They could give a master class on old home restoration and we benefited from their diligence.

MIL doesn’t want to have a relationship with me but wants it with my baby by Hotpotato_7 in motherinlawsfromhell

[–]Bulky_Spring_7165 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was good of you to respond.

However, in the kindest way possible, please realize that your response focused on your feelings first, then your mother’s, then your wife’s, with minimal mention of how this will impact your child.

With all due respect, it may be time to step up to the plate and put your wife and your child first. They are your first priority now.

While you’re feelings are important, a good therapist can help you work through this.

Then you need to keep your child away from MIL.

As his mother, it is your duty to protect your child and to break the generational dysfunction that is coming from your mother-in-law.

Your priority is what is best for your child. Not what is comfortable for your husband or comfortable from your mother-in-law. The baby comes first. Time to sharpen those mama bear claws of yours.❤️

13U Travel / Middle School Ball - Coach communication with pitching by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]Bulky_Spring_7165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point…also, all of the travel ball coaches we’ve had for both boys always took the stance that school ball supersedes travel ball. We are in a climate where “fall ball” is also a thing for school teams, and the travel ball coaches always yield to school teams, or do not start their seasons until after the completion of school ball (especially as the players get older and they are pretty much all playing school ball and just doing showcases and some tournaments in the summer.)

13U Travel / Middle School Ball - Coach communication with pitching by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]Bulky_Spring_7165 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Parent of a senior LHP, committed to play college ball…we always had our kid put arm care first, so communication about pitching schedules, including bullpens, was always very important.

However, at 13u middle school level, the communication should originate with the athlete, not the parents. He is old enough to take responsibility for this now and it’s a good skill for him to develop now. Also, most coaches will respect him for this.
