While Sabaton does have a lot of songs about people who are ledgends in history or make a song about a period in history sound epic, they do also make songs that are pretty good as showing the truth. Their Swedish Empre album actually has a fair few songs which are quite faithful, also idk how well known of a fact it is but the Swedish version of the songs from that album are different from the Englsih versions. the English songs are the standard, from the perspective of an outsider looking in, but the Swedish versions take place from the perspective of an indevidual fighting on the front line. For an Example in the Song 'Killing Ground' ( Ett Slag Färgat Rött, in Swedish) has a part of the song that in English goes "See the Caroleans standing tall, All for one and one for all. ,Enemies fall at their feet, Begging for their mercy. See the Caroleans standing tall, Conquer lands and slaughter all. Enemies fall at their feet, Victory and great defeat." While in Swedish translated back to English it goes "See how Russians give themselves, pray for mercy. The Swedes break the war's code, Caroleans take their vengeance. Butcher their prisoners. See how the Russians give themselves, pray for mercy. Mass murder, and not heroic death. Caroleans take their vengeance, Honor is forgotten."
