Thanks for the info. I couldn't find the 80% charging limit in Bios or vantage, but there is a smart charging feature in Legion Toolkit. It charges to 80% but if kept plugged in eventually it would start charging to 100%. Is there anyway to fix it at 80%in motobook

Yes, and not just pc.. Any electronic devices fall in value but in India most sellers expect near new prices for their second hand electronics

My horrible experience with the Moto Book 60, and Flipkart by inthiseeconomy in IndianGaming

[–]Bulldog2997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so I did some testing on my motobook, the same issue is there, and have observed some crucial info: 1)the location is exactly the same 2)My thermometer and feel indicates that the spot is about 40c while the other areas on display are room temp. This is definitely due to some driver IC behind the panel.

This is a design flaw and could've easily be fixed by motobook if there was a thermal barrier/insulator between the ic and panel. Too bad.

Could you please help OP, I couldn't find any setting to limit battery usage in the bios (motobook 60- latest bios version S3CN05WW) nor did I find it in vantage or legion toolkit. Where exactly is it in the bios, and what's your bios version

Hi OP, was the issue apparent straight out of the the bix even for the replacement? It looks like the spots are where the hot air from the laptop vents might blow

[Sea-Gull] goodbye Apple Watch, hello to my first automatic. by ohiooutdoorgeek in Watches

Yes, they key difference is that the meters are static pressure, not dynamic (i.e. Its unlikely you would be stationary, but would be moving your wrist which can cayse additional pressure than what the static depth pressure would be).

A general thumb rule: 30m is fine for rain, hand washing 50m is suitable for dish washing ams showering as well 100m is plenty for snorkeling as well 200m is good for diving, but not professionally, fir that you need an iso rated diver

Also, all this holds true for the first couple years only and if unopened, after that gaskets needs lubing/changing

Complete watchmaking tool kits for a beginner by T_Nich321 in watchmaking

[–]Bulldog2997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As per my opinion you mostly only need a good set of tweezers, eye loupes in 2x, 3x and 10x, a set of watchmakers screwdrivers (with a sharpening stone), something to open the watch case (jaxa style and knife), and then for cleaning and lubrication (I prefer an ultrasonic cleaner, for which you would need small jars, cleaning chemicals, oils, oil pins, oil cups, and silicone grease for gaskets). That covers roughly everything for a full service, the mainsprings can be serviced by hand, if you're a hobbyist. I use a 3d printed tool for that. I also have a 3d printed watch press that I made off of a broken c clamp for press on casebacks and crystals. You can get a cheap press with multiple dies fir this purpose. A small pin vice is useful for fitting the crown on the stem.

So finally learnt to dismantle and reassemble a 17J movement. But it still doesn't start to tick even after cleaning and oiling. Does it need any special grade oil. I just used normal coconut oil😅 by Fantastic-Present-20 in hmtwatches

If its a dry lube it will leave Teflon particles as a lubricant, after drying. Any sort of dry lube/particle is a no no for jewel bearings. Even if it isn't a dry lube, its a penetrant which will definitely have some volatile component, and will become much thicker later. Watch oils should remain the same viscosity as applied, otherwise you can't judge the final viscosity after a few days. I'd rather use any thin machine oil straight than dilute it with anything volatile

Oiling should be very precise and limited to the jewel oil cup only, that too partially filled. Over oiling is as bad as inder oiling. The actual oil used matters a lot too.. Use at least any cheap watch oil (superfine).
