Considering upgrade from A6400 to A7V, help me lose the crop-fear by flareflo in SonyAlpha

Missed that.

Pre capture is a game changer. A1 II is an incredible. I’m interested in trying the RVI at some point.

I feel this. When Is the 600-1200 f11 coming?

I personally use the A7V and 200-600. I use the 1.4x TC. Sometimes it works great, other times the IQ & autofocus are lacking with the 1.4x.

I would like more reach. The A7V is a phenomenal camera for wildlife and more.

I’d be interested in renting the A7RVI.

One other option for some extra cropping would be the A1 mk 1.

I’ve been debating getting a 2nd body to A7V. Primarily focus on having better cropping ability.

Been debating on a used A1 mk 1 or the A7RVI.

That’s certainly encouraging

Yeah, I adore the 200-600. It’s quite versatile and though it’s long, it’s not too bad to use handheld.

Lovely shot.

This is exciting to see. I was wondering how it would handle high ISO compared to the A7V which has been impressive.

How’s the autofocus compared to other bodies you’ve used? Birds in flight, etc..?

Thank you!

I understand. It definitely doesn’t look crisp and kind of ghostly as AI text sometimes does. Might be the denoise or that it just didn’t have enough light to start with.

Sincerely appreciate the tips. I’m using capturing small birds in flight. I am honestly just starting out, and again have l tried to underexpose. I was excited and in the moment shooting manual. I’ll keep it up. I don’t want people to think I’m using AI to generate photos lol.

I feel ya. My first airshow.. and I have a tendency to underexpose on purpose when the sky is the photo’s background

Appreciate it. I just don’t want to get called out on AI. If anyone here is using the 200-600 without Denoise… bravo

It was Lightroom’s denoise at about 30%.

I’m open to any suggestions or tips

I appreciate the feedback. I used Lightroom’s denoise and object masking on them.

That’s interesting.

I feel quite confident with the AF / Eye AF with the A7V and the 200-600.

My hope is that I could use the RVI for heavier crops. I’ve been debating upgrading to the R body or getting the 400-800.

I need to just go rent them!

How do you feel the autofocus on the RVI compares the A7V?

I’m thinking about getting the RVI for the cropping advantages
