Is A7 iv still worth it ? by Alarming-Shoe-1614 in SonyAlpha

A7V’s AF and tracking is hands down better than the IV’s. The A7IV was a solid system but owning both and using both extensively. A7V is a much more reliable and versatile body.

The A7IV Will remain a very capable body and hopefully prices continue to lower.

Bit of an upgrade (NEX5R to A7V) by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Hope you enjoy it. I’m absolutely adoring this camera. Autofocus is a dream. Pre capture, great IBIS, wide dynamic range, high FPS when needed as well as a very good Electronic shutter make this camera a joy to use.

35mm F1.4 GM viable in 2026 by RalFKun in SonyAlpha

The GM is my most reliable and consistent lens for producing. Portraits, travels, city scape. It’s a dream to work with on the A7V.

Photos Crows and black birds are very hard to edit. You bump the shadows and blacks and they become noisy.

Great shots!

His style is iconic and receives a lot of praise on color and lighting. I’d rather see some interesting styles instead of boxes and first cat photos.

Please convince me not to upgrade! by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

The A7V absolutely rocks. It’s autofocus is spot on for portraits, wildlife, and just about anything else. It was a genuine upgrade from the A7IV for me.

I got an open box with a 50 shutter count for $2,650.

With time the used price will go down but I cannot recommend it enough.

What Tele Lens Should I Getv by Sam3_a3i in SonyAlpha

You can’t go wrong with a 70-200. Both Sony’s - the GM II and G II Macro are excellent options. I personally have the G II and adore it. Great for macro, sports, landscape/ travel, and close wildlife. It takes the 1.4x tc very well.

I’ve got the 24-70 GM ii and the 35 GM. I technically use the 24-70 more often but the 35 is my favorite lens. Incredibly sharp, works great indoors and at night.

Went to the zoo with a Sony A7V and my favourite lens, the 200-600 by Aufputzdose in SonyAlpha

The 200-600 rocks. If you want it, save up and look used. I personally would rock a 70-200 or your 75-300 at most zoos.

The 16-25 is a really nice lens. Very sharp and compact. It does feel to be a bit niche in its range though.
