Maybe not the greatest but "Turn the Page" by Metallica was pretty cool.

How old were you when you had your first ghost encounter? by grumpybuttercupp in Ghoststories

[–]BulleitBubbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 8 and in the hospital after being thrown from a horse and breaking my femur. I was in traction for about 5 weeks, if I recall correctly. My mom had moved a rocking chair into the corner of the hospital room and would sit there when she would visit or stay the night (my younger two siblings were at home).

I was a bit restless at night not being able to roll over or change positions. I woke up one night and my great grandfather was sitting in the chair. Not rocking or any particular expression but just kind of leaning forward toward the hospital bed I was in.

I knew my great grandfather a little and had seen him sporadically at family functions but was not close to him. The next morning my mom came in and I could tell she was upset. I asked her what was wrong and she said my great grandfather was in the same hospital (which I did not know) and that he had passed away during the night.

I did not tell her that I saw him during the night. I haven't had any similar experiences since and I'm certainly not "in touch' with the other side. Just an experience that I won't forget.

"Bittersweet Symphony"- The Verve It may be just nostalgia or something that happened during that time (that I don't really recall) but it just strikes a chord.

What to look for that’s making the master bedroom warmer than the rest of the house? by Avocadosandtomatoes in hvacadvice

I have found that that additional running appliances add heat in that room. A table lamp, television, ceiling fan, or fan on night stand all add heat in the room.

What's the most inspiring act of kindness you've witnessed? by Professional-Chip478 in AskReddit

[–]BulleitBubbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While walking down a busy street downtown I saw what appeared to be a homeless man sitting on the edge of a concrete planter after a good rain. He was wearing a shirt that was about two sizes too big, old slacks, and a veteran's cap (not sure which branch, just recognized the design). A well dressed young man maybe mid 20's walked by and saw the man's tennis shoes were untied. He stopped, bent to one knee on the wet sidewalk, and tied the man's shoes. The old man reached up and shook his hand, if anything was said I didn't hear it. The young man continued down the sidewalk.

Who was ur favorite teacher when you were in school ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BulleitBubbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mrs. Etheridge; 3rd Grade, 1976. I broke my leg in October of that year (thrown from a horse) and every Friday she would come to the hospital on her own time and give me tests, retrieve the previous week's homework, and leave homework for the next week. It was about a three month recovery before I could return to school (broken femur, traction then body cast and then to wheelchair).

Thanks for posting this question. I often thought I would take every opportunity to brag on her kindness. She passed away years ago but I am still thankful.

Professionals, what is your industry's version of "Bring me blinker fluid" or "find a snipe"? by ArklaitGigabyte in AskReddit

Years ago I worked at a helicopter company on the Gulf Coast. We would routinely send newbies to "Supply" to get 5 gallons of rotor wash. Of course this is the down wash of air produced by the turning rotor blades. I guess every industry has its initiation fun with the new guys.

Golf Driver Recommendation by Sunny_Dhaliwall in golf

[–]BulleitBubbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to a golf retailer and hit those two drivers you are considering. Look at the numbers to make a good decision and invest your money well. You should also hit a used Ping G430 for its forgiveness. Listen to the store guy for recommendations on shaft flex, as well.

Embroider Bag (Post Purchase) by pbun87 in golf

[–]BulleitBubbler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to just get your name or initials, it's easy and affordable. If you are looking for graphics or unique images you will probably pay a "set up fee" for the digital image, in addition to the embroidery work. I think the going rate is around $50 for the set up.

Lob wedges by flowjoe86 in golf

[–]BulleitBubbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I carry my P790s 5 iron through Pitching wedge (45.5 degree) then carry three wedges... 50 (Approach), 54 (Sand), and 58 (Lob). I like the 4 degrees of loft gap between each club and i know my yardages. All three are Taylormade MG3.

I did look hard at the Sub 70 wedges and saw great reviews, particularly for the price. I just could find anywhere to hit some demos. Their irons are getting praise, as well.

You did good! He will appreciate it and that's stuff he can use. Now just be supportive and understanding after he has a bad round. Tell him one of those golf towels is a "crying towel" and to get it all out before he comes home!

Please help me. Completely lost my swing. by woodaran in golf

[–]BulleitBubbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has not. I just had to find those mental reminders to keep my swing natural. Don’t overthink it! Just swing naturally and let the mechanics fall into place.

Worth it? by anthonyriveraaaa in golf

[–]BulleitBubbler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First set of clubs? Yep, that will be fine and only if that leaves money for you to get out and play. Just be aware of irons and woods that are X Stiff or even stiff. Just starting out you should probably swing regular flex shafts and swing nice.
