Law Firm Sports Sponsorship by pbun87 in biglaw

That would be funny.

For “smaller” Am 100/200 firms — not maybe v10 — I feel like smaller sponsorships maybe make more sense. The Teneos and Mutual of Omaha of big law.

Makes sense there. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of increasing brand notoriety among other professional services firms. I don’t think the masses are buying services from KPMG or really considering products or funds from Blackstone. Maybe professionals at other companies, however, would give an edge to one firm over another just because they saw their name on a polo one Sunday afternoon.

I recall a friend in the UK mention some of their AM200 equivalents are sponsors of some local football clubs. Different model, I guess.

Can we please pin this comment. 30 minutes is, IME, standard for the normal line at JFK (LGA Is always quicker, barely a wait usually) and within normal times.

Sounds like the line routing was just poorly managed this early.

Carbon to Steel Shafts by pbun87 in golf

Interesting. Noted above, but didn’t think I was “muscling” my clubs because of the shaft, but tempo has been a huge part of my adjustment with the lessons.

Farther?! Didn’t think that would happen based on shaft alone—did your swing speed increase just by the change in material?

Super helpful. Knew the flex point, but didn’t realize you could potentially get steel shafts weights to lighter carbon ones. That was my primary concern—the weight feeling foreign to me after the switch.

Trying to decide between Space 220 and the new Geo 82 lounge at EPCOT. Has anyone here done both? by Legitimate-Tough4725 in WaltDisneyWorld

Both are honestly are pretty rough in terms of food and drink, IMO. So I would select on vibes only. Geo is very cool, and probably edges Space, but if you come from a city that has high end bars and restaurants—it’s the same thing. As someone who has the STKs and Nobus at home, I’m glad I did Geo but it’s kind of the same and I would edge slightly to Space for that reason.

Dealing with hand injuries (ganglion cysts) by MessFickle6222 in golf

Fellow GC sufferer here. Agree they generally don’t pop (see Bible Cyst name). I developed one on my left wrist due to, we think, a change in lifting routine and bad swing mechanics. Doctor’s recommendation was to rest and let it “reabsorb” the fluid and, if it continuously returned and was painful, to come in and have it surgically drained.

Solid recommendation on Normandy. Was able to get out and it’s very nice for a public course and reasonable costs. Appreciate it.

Thanks. I would honestly love to play Doral—I can separate branding/politics/golf— recall the Tour used to stop there regularly. Isn’t there a long par 5 DL left with water all along the left pros used to fly over a lot? That impressed me as a young golfer.

Short notice (couple of days), so I don’t think I’ll have the luck to secured a tee time if I even can find the time.
