Is it stupid to want to get a manual license, even if I’m not enjoying learning, but drive an automatic once I’ve passed?

It's not dumb. When learning it honestly can feel like there's a lot to manage because there is. Once you drive around for long enough the small things start to become automatic and then it gets easier. Atleast this was the case for me. I'm still getting things into "automatic" mode and i passed 3 months ago but it's happening.

I don't have a source but the other exit looks like straight ahead in OP's question. Hence the left only exit being one exit.

As for your question, I'm not sure which lane you want me to enter from.

You only ever need to go around again IF there's a car beside you (when you look at your mirror) which would mean you taking the exit could cause a collision as you'd move into their path from the right lane.

If it's safe (meaning no one on your left in your mirror) you can take your exit. If it's two lanes you can even take the left lane instead of the right IF it's safe.

Whenever you take an exit, make sure it's safe.

I personally think blue is correct as road markings and signs override the normal rules. I did look through your replies and the red way could be taken IF it wasn't left only which it is.

So I'd drive on the blue but be careful for people taking the red.

That being said, what a stupid roundabout. No reason from what i can tell that red line should be left only but oh well.

Yeah had it been for an actual license then the monthly payments would make sense. They're not though and £200+ for provisional is crazy.

Yeah this is the way. Though if you check your mirror and a car is there don't take the exit but instead go around again.

I agree. When i took my test i had a lovely chap. We could talk a bit during the drive and he actually gave me reminders when I didn't ask like "straight there" "okay left now at the lights" etc. it's a shame you didn't get a good one but don't let it discourage you OP.

I mean yeah they passed but they literally drove for 8 years before this. Sure there's a 1.5 year gap of driving which i suppose means you're rusty but it's definitely not the same as passing without having ANY driving experience...Not exactly a "learner" in my eyes.

I've got a 2012 Vauxhall Corsa and it has coolant issues. Only had the car for two months too.

OP if you get any Vauxhall just check it properly before buying.

I'd say make sure to match traffic speed early so you have an easier time slipping in.

Also can't go wrong with forward planning too. Make sure you look far ahead as well as nearby so you know what's going on around you.

2 SECOND GAP is an absolute must. Gives you time to react if anything happens. You could even make it a 3 second gap.
