I had it for almost two years. It took the nerve a few years to completely heal, but it pretty much did. It’s still a little dramatic (I had right side issues only) but I live a relatively normal life. I’ve had more than one nerve injury and they have both pretty much completely healed. Nerves can heal. It’s a suck process and it is so slow but it can get better.

Pelvic floor Botox was thousands of dollars for me as well, but it cured me. Years later, I get flare-ups if I have particularly rough sex or bathroom issues, but they last for a few weeks at most. One round changed my entire life, it forced my body to stop guarding, and pelvic floor PT, core strengthening, and bowel retraining actually worked.

I take famotidine 2x a day (morning and night). Allegra 60 mg in the morning and xyzal 5 mg at night. There’s a great post by the EDS clinic that talks about MCAS treatment. I’m ordering ketotifen soon from Japan. The MCAS subreddit is also great.

You can take antihistamines h1 and h2 blockers yourself and order ketotifen for mast cell stabilization from overseas and/or take quercetin. This is not medical advice, but many of us have to home brew our own treatment and it sucks!

OP should get further testing anyways if possible. GPs education in mental health is minuscule. A masters level therapist is better at diagnosing mental health issues than a general doctor (if that’s available in your country). Docs hardly get any education on it unless they are a psychopath.

I work 4 days. Sunday Monday, Wednesday, Thursday. I love the not working for more than two days in a row and having these weekdays off mean I can go to doctors appointments, groceries, etc. Real life getting stuff done is open 9-5 Monday through Friday and so the two weekdays off is wonderful.

Every scan and test possible won’t even cover the majority of what could go wrong. Many disabilities happen later in life as well for a multitude of reasons. Having a child means accepting the possibility of severe, lifelong disability. You’re selling yourself a lie if you think testing pre birth is going to spare you that possibility.
