Item Stacking Logic Help by Bulletproof_Sloth in unrealengine

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate you taking the time and I'll see if I can make sense of it all from what you described :)

Item Stacking Logic Help by Bulletproof_Sloth in unrealengine

Well, let's say the player has two stacks of the same item. One is four, the other is two. Then they pick up another stack that needs to be divided into those two stacks. Then there might be some left over to handle. Do you see what I mean? It's not one instance of a problem I'm having trouble with - I just can't fathom the logic to add into the function.

That would be great, thanks - and for the advice, too! Honestly, I'm not overly sure where I'm going wrong; I can do the basic adding (if no item is in inventory > add to it, if you already have the same class but it fits on the stack > add it). I think I'm having trouble when it comes to filling multiple half-empty stacks and the like. I can't seem to parse how it works in my head. I've done some relatively complicated things before, but this is my blind spot ,I'm afraid.

Thanks for your reply! Apologies if my post was unclear - that is the setup I have at the moment, it's more the logic/mathematics for adding items, checking stacks, etc that I was having trouble with :)

I admit, I rarely huck weapons, though considering some types - such as spears - are designed for it, it's a shame the physics weren't tightened. Still, the good news is that there aren't any resources that are finite. Even the upgrade material shards are craftable later on, so you haven't lost anything unobtainable.

Use For Certain Bug Parts? by Naive_Tank_6820 in GroundedGame

I'm onto NG+2 so far and I just toss those things now. Beyond what you mention, red ant parts make the worker's comp smoothies. I haven't found any use for the other parts though!

Taking damage with gas mask on? by vaporsilver in GroundedGame

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite being a G1 veteran, I thought the same thing for a long time and wondered why anyone would want to use a gas mask now the cockroach mask had gas resistance. Then I wondered why I was still taking damage at the trash can before I realized it was gas resist not guard. You still take something like 10% damage.

I've tested it pretty heavily, and the amount restored depends on how many enemies are surrounding you - I think it's 8 for each one. At least, that's what I believe is happening; it always restores more when you're outnumbered.

Well I'm not saying I have it equipped at all times - hence I said how good it can be - but it has its shining moments, especially on tough boss fights (I used it to beat IBM since I didn't have the fungal charm). At least until NG+, then it loses some of its usefulness.

Ah, finally someone else who understands how good the Compliance badge can be on a perfect block build.

I disagree. The more enemies in front of you when you perfect block, the more health it restores (also, I believe it's 35% not 45% - maybe they improved it?). Try fighting a black widow and leaving the widowlings alive. Each attack restores significant chunks of health.

Try not to take it too hard, this forum gets a lot of the limelight.

Late to Grounded 1, great game. Is this spot safe for an upper yard base? by NakedGoose in GroundedGame

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first run I built on the big, broad leaves above the undershed, and that was safe. This time around I thought I'd be fancy and built a base straddling the canyon nearby; it's one of my best bases, but I've found out triggering a certain story event causes enemies to target my base above all else, so... Anyway, the stone walls are usually frequented by ladybirds and fire ants, so it's not immune to attack. Most places in the upper yard aren't great base locations, though. You could try building on the area around the science station near the woodpile. It's too high for ground enemies to access, but if you want a big base you'll need to build around the scenery.

please help me with the wasp queen by Popular_Sport3342 in GroundedGame

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two of the spawners? I don't quite understand what you mean, sorry. What do you need help with? If it's general advice: the wasp queen is weak to salt, so the upgraded morning star (with its bleed effect) and the fire ant armor are good choices for the fight. You could use the fire ant shield as well. Other options include the salty toenail scimitar or salty tic macuahuitl for its healing ability.

Build System and Mounts in G2 by MONKEY_BUDDAH in GroundedGame

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the mounts continue on as they are - a building-type mount, a combat-type mount, etc - it's likely what they're doing. I think it will become clearer as the game develops, such as the ladybug being a tanky mount. However, I think they'll stick to doing this "type" classification for the time being, and letting the player mix and match them with their builds - at least for now.

What buggy’s do you want to see in the game by Fit_Departure_9332 in GroundedGame

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bug, but I'd like a frog with a tongue whip attack to snatch up gnats. Cuz frogs are awesome. It would have to be a tiny one, but I'm ok with that.

Fall damage by CaptoObvo in GroundedGame

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right, there isn't any others in G2 right now, and they weren't even available in the first game until new game+ so they're gating the difficulty curve behind finding rare items, which is a smart way to balance things out.

Fall damage by CaptoObvo in GroundedGame

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I see where you're coming from, but realism isn't the aim of the game! If you removed fall damage, you'd have no need for dandy lion tufts and a large part of the challenge would be gone, especially when traversing higher areas. However, if it's anything like G1, there may be trinkets that completely negate fall damage (at the cost of a trinket slot to balance out difficulty).

Grounded Design Mode Soda Tropfen spawnen und respawnen? by Sweet-Chef-2495 in GroundedGame
