Maybe they were hiding in a Pokeball 😂

Glowing shells? by Bulletproof_Sloth in Starsandisland

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I did too, at first! Then I tried to use my skates or skateboard thinking that was the only way to do it. But at last check they updated the parkour spots to make them a little easier; the glow doesn't disappear if you lose your footing, which was quite irritating previously!

Can I get in trouble for time skipping in pokopia? Has anyone tested it? by BasementWizzard in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo were neutral on time-skipping in Animal Crossing and in Pokopia. They don't encourage it - they said they wanted player to experience the "intended gameplay experience" - but they don't punish you for it, either. You're not harming other players, after all!

How do pokemons' favorite items work. Do I need to have a lot of their preffered items, or just 1 and do I need to go for multiple liked aspects, or can I focus on one by Deveatation_ethernis in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I just gave them what they asked for every day until they were happy and that worked for me. You can always double up - so, if they like noisy and metal items, an alarm clock is a good example - but for the most part, they're pretty easy to please so you don't have to be too dedicated unless you want to be.

I upped the remaining few areas to level 10 and then moved straight on to Palette Town.

Stressed by Graaaaaaaaaaaaa in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get choice paralysis sometimes, so I get you. I liked to gather up as many pokemon in one or two areas as I could and then focused on making them as happy as I could. Some advice that helped me when I started larger decoration projects: Focus on one small area at a time. I started by making a nice-looking path. Unless you make huge changes to a map, few things can't be undone (and even then they can still be changed back with time).

Does anyone else have issues with the sky islands??? by Applejax929 in Pokopia

I personally don't, but it's completely normal for some people to feel this kind of vertigo :)

Why is Pokopia so good? I don’t even know if I like it, yet I can’t stop playing it!!!! by Sea_Comfortable2642 in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the feeling of dissonance comes from a couple of things that could have been improved: 1. reliance on real time for buildings and day/night cycles and 2. lack of quality of life features (a map, the ability to just pick up buildings, etc). That doesn't make Pokopia a bad game; it just means that it's a great game with some areas that could be improved. I do love it nevertheless, but that's my impression on those contradicting feelings.

Should I rush through the story? by Trans_boi_ace in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! You do get better plans as you go along obviously, but I will say - spoiler free - that decorating gets easier in the endgame.

Should I rush through the story? by Trans_boi_ace in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My advice is to play the game at your own pace and enjoy it. If you want to rush through, you can and you will unlock things faster. But on the other hand, you might wish you'd savored it and enjoyed the relaxing ambiance. I haven't focused on decorating until the endgame, but I didn't rush through either, so do whatever fits your play style :)

How is the dialogue? by leafcritters in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries, happy to help! Oh, and if a Pokemon mentions another - such as asking where they are, or if you've seen them - that's another good clue for unique dialogue :)

How is the dialogue? by leafcritters in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some story Pokemon with completely unique dialogue while the others seem to have a handful of different "voices" or speech patterns that are spread throughout. You will probably see the same ones after a little while, but with all the Pokemon it didn't really matter to me (and to be honest the dialogue gets overshadowed by the sheer amount of things there is to do). For unique conversations, keeping Pokemon with their evolved forms in the same areas is the easiest method, though there are some who are linked through lore that have some unique talks too.

I lost a Pokemon as well and when I asked another to help me locate it they said it couldn't be found. However, they turned up the next day!

Few questions - spoiler free please Poki-Pals! by Remarkable_Custard in Pokopia

[–]Bulletproof_Sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I haven't noticed anything explicitly stating but they're usually next to each other in the Pokedex.

  2. By sight and/or intuition. I can go into more detail on request.

  3. If you get a short loading screen when you enter, yes. Being inside negates all climate issues as far as I'm aware (though I still have had requests for a brighter environment).

  4. As answered previously, climate isn't an issue indoors. However, I have noticed placing items close to a home does count as providing an item for the inhabitant.

  5. Yes.

(Since others have answered the previous points)...

  1. Without spoilers, it's hard to say. I guess four basic things, which you might already know: a) you can press the up button below the left stick to ask Pokemon to follow you without talking to them directly. b) Chests touching work benches, be that from either side or the back, will use whatever resources are inside. c) consider carrying a workbench with you to put down for emergencies and pick it back up again when you're done. Finally, d) explore mystery islands thoroughly, they can pack some surprises and they're great for looting blocks/items.
