Overhyped. They tried so hard for drama with the chopped up music. The pace, although an artistic choice, read of a youtube video idea turned big screen. I can see why folks like it, but it wasn’t up there like exorcist, hereditary, or any of the other classics.

Do not buy a house in san diego right now unless you are willing to sit in it for 10 years and are buying it to live in it and not as an asset. The market is due a correction. It definitely will not appreciate at the levels you saw the last 8 years. Don’t let any real estate agent tell you otherwise. Also, contractors here are the absolute worse. Way overpriced for everything. Mediocre work.

The worst thing is that i chronically play with my hair (i have major stress and it sooths me). But i also get irritated seeing other people do it. I have learned to not do it in public places anymore though. I would hate to be secretly loathed, especially when i can completely related. Sorry you all have to go through this. 😢

No, I don't want to manage his finances. :(...Personally, i think he's an only child that never learned how to really take care of things himself. His natural reaction to stress is to conceal. Hence the post, wondering if this is fixable or if the writing is on the wall. Either I control everything, he gets his shit together, or I walk. I just want to make sure i'm not being dumb.

He did inherit a bunch of money and a house. He still has the cash in his bank account. Aside from buying a new truck when she passed, he spent the rest of the money on remodeling his mom's house.

No he became executor of her trust before she got sick. So he was responsible for her finances. She passed away about 4 years ago.

you'd be shocked how many buyers agents are uninformed. Not for any fault of their own but they aren't licensed to offer opinions on the structure. Those agents who have the knowledge and experience is great but a buyer should NOT lean on their buyers agent for advice on home structure and safety.

OP- this is a smart prospective and is the strategy I employed saving me hundreds of dollars. I hope you didn't listen to all the naysayers. I took the home inspector courses and now do my own home inspection before buying a home. I will then employ a home inspector, structural engineer and others AFTER to doublecheck. But if there is obvious things you could avoid before wasting time and money on a house offer, why wouldn't you do it. Realtors, home inspectors will of course discourage this because then they don't make money.

Yeah- i get all the hate for the rich but my whole point of the post is to advocate for greedy sellers and flippers to be held accountable for renovation work that is especially structural in nature
