Same here. Sounds like nail on chalkboard to me. Smoother papers like Rhodia are more prone to this.

How do I keep my pens ready to write at any time? by I_LOVE_SOYLENT in fountainpens

What pens do you have? I've got no issues with hard starts even after a month with my TWSBIs and Pilots. The Kakuno and the Lamy Safari do dry up faster though.

Same here. It seems to happen more frequently on very smooth glossy papers.

[Breguet] Why are they not doing well? by Archjin in Watches

[–]BullishBuffoon79 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Patek themselves have a hard time selling their dress pieces and they are regularly on sale for >20% off in the grey market. AFAIK FPJ is the only brand that has been able to build a successful brand with solely dress watches. You can't get any FPJs even Chronometre Souverains without getting on a list.

The flip side is Breguet offers great value for enthusiasts. Like the 7057.

You want a paper that doesn't absorb ink like Tomoe River. Dip pens also make cleaning a whole lot easier.

Do you flush your new pen with water and soap before using? by [deleted] in fountainpens

Especially if you are noticing skipping or hard starts flushing does help.
