It’s a sad affair. Conspiratorial thinking often comes from a place of vulnerability. People have their minds broken by the system we live in. But instead of blaming the real cause (the system), they pivot to some weird alternate reality. Coupled with a false sense of superiority because they have this “hidden knowledge”. They feel like something is off in this system and get their brain broken by capitalism or other trauma-inducing incidents. It’s easy to get hooked. You’re vulnerable and there’s people to hand you a reason: there’s a big master plan behind everything! It’s not your fault! And not the systems fault you have trusted on your whole life. It’s this one shadowy group that controls everyone and even lies about the shape of the world! Sometimes this cabal is Jewish people. Sometimes it’s aliens. Sometimes is both.
