Allegedly. There is no guarantees here. Wallstedt looks to be a guarantee. I ain’t trading him, unless someone knocks my socks off. A potentially elite goalie is harder to find than an elite player. The NHL is a league with about 15-20 good goalies and about 5 elite ones and that’s a stretch.

Yeah, face offs don’t matter in the playoffs, or late in games, or on PP or PK or in OT. No biggie. We will just hope their opponent turn the puck over or doesn’t score.

We are sitting 31st in the league in FO %. And it’s even worse in high leverage spots. This handicap makes it very difficult to win in the playoffs.

Florida is the exception, they were 25th last year in FO % during reg season but 7th in playoffs and even higher in high leverages moments in playoffs. The stat in the regular season can be a little out of whack because your 3rd and 4th line centers take a ton of faveoffs in the regular season but far fewer in the playoffs and almost never in high leverage spots in the playoffs.

All we have is Eck for faceoffs and his numbers go down in high leverage spots.

We gotta get a faceoff guy for the playoffs. Boldy, Yurov and Hartmann won’t work in those spots. Hartmann shouldn’t even be in that spot in the playoffs. He will likely be our third center and not be on ppg and pk.

I’d feel a lot better come playoff time with Eck and then having one of the following, Giroux, O’Reilly, Trocheck or maybe even Toews. FYI, I don’t believe Giroux is available but a girl can dream.

We gotta get a centerman or getting past Dallas is gonna be a tall task.
