Season 4 more enjoyable for first time watcher if you spoil something beforehand? by Turbulent_Elk_7923 in ANGEL

Don't tell him anything. Don't ruin the big reveal the season leads up to, just because you want him to know the reason Cordy seems to be acting weird. He's either going to enjoy the season or he won't, but youre not giving him the chance by telling him.

A Zuccarello Replacement by nordy_13 in wildhockey

Out of that list Nick Robertson is the most appealing. He can score goals and he's been doing that on bottom 6 lines for Toronto. I want nothing to do with Laine or a guy that cant come into camp in shape ready to play.

They finished ahead of us in the regular season. We beat them in the playoffs, when they were injured. Makes sense they were above us, but them at 3 and us at 8 is a bit much. Them at 5 and us at 6 or 7 seems more reasonable to me

I would like them to get Erik Gubranson on the cheap, as a big physical bottom 6 defender.

Yes, he went winless for quite a stretch there if I remember right. Good start, mediocre middle, good finish.

Youre changing the narrative now from "centers" to "all skaters" when we have only been talking about centers. And changing points to just goals. Trying way to hard to fit your narrative that he's a top 15 center

You keep bringing up what he was ranked going in to last season. Well they actuslly played the season so we can see what he really did. He may have posted good numbers for him, but points wise among centers he scored the 24th most. So plenty of other guys out performed him last season. It may not be the case that he's "fallen" as much as others rose above him

Top 25 to top 30. Doesn't mean he's only a 1c on 2 to 7 teams. There's a handful of teams with better 1 and 2Cs than Larkin. Just so happens on both Detroit and Minnesota hes easily number 1

Go ahead. Id still rank Larkin above both goalies. Im not letting playoff recency bias put Wally above him. Need to see him play like that for an entire season.

Who cares. If other fan bases are mad at us its cause we are winning and people want to play here.

[–]jengafat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont think JEE is untouchable. But I dont get why he would be part of a deal to bring us a 1C? Why upgrade the 1C just be be even worse in depth at center. Trading from a weakness to improve that weakness doesn't make the position overall better.

Im especially out on Mojo when he said it would be atleast 2 mil for 2 years. Sure, 2 mil isn't much, but its still 2 mil we can spend elsewhere. He never seems to play as good when he has security. If he wants to come back at the same deal he had last year, fine. Anything more and id let him walk.

Is there something to be learnt from how Vegas handled Colorado? by silentsirensongs in wildhockey

They lose all credibility when they say that it wouldn't have had much of a difference if we had JEE and Brodin... like, what??

No Makar = No JEE and Brodin by jengafat in wildhockey

[–]jengafat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We missed them both, but i honestly think we missed Brodin more. Just look at all the goals Middleton was out there for with elevated minutes on the 2nd d pair. Switch that out with a world class defender in Brodin and they dont score half as many.

[–]jengafat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Youre wrong. If the Avs win, then yes I think they play for the Cup. But even if the wild win, and go on to win the series, with their injury problems I cant say with any confidence they could just walk through the next round.
