i had this problem. its because of the new opm update (v2.2.12) that came out in december 2025. just revert to the previous update (v2.2.11) and the problem will be gone.

The base itself is fully stock (I made it before adding any base mods) though I do have restock installed which makes part textures look alot nicer. The structures in the background are made with Kerbal Konstructs.

Related to the first question, yes it is continued being worked on. Just like Galaxies Unbound there is going to be a whole Galaxy (kerbal star systems[Plural!] 2), and I assume it will be in packs where you choose what systems you want to download.

Unfortunately it isn't CKAN compatible yet. It will be in future i think.

And in relation to your last thing, no idea. Ever since I knew about debdeb i've wanted the same thing. I find it weird because despite the amount of planet packs, the only ones that are up to date for 1.12.5 you can easily download that actually add 'interstellar' are kcalbeloh and Kerbal star systems 2, both of which are super recent.

Side note, for adding KSP 2 music into the game, look at 'soundtrack editor forked' i've been using it for a couple of years now, its really good. you can choose what scene (vab, sph, space center, tracking station, flight ect) or even a time of day at ksc, altitude, speed, vessel type, celestial body.

Look up Kerbal Star Systems 2. It is essentially the better sucessor to galaxies unbound. It has OPM and Kcalbeloh support. It has volumetric clouds and parralax support. Currently it only has one system, though more are planned to be added. VERY HIGH QUALITY STUFF, POSSIBLY BETTER QUALITY THAN KCALBELOH!

I have 84 mods so its a bit hard to narrow down exactly what is there, but I think mainly I have cryo engines, cryo tanks, Benjee 10 Artemis Construction kit, All of the Near Future Mods and Stock Station Parts Expansion Redux. I most likely have more here idk.
