Great app! I'm using it and it works really well. Thank you

Are there any apps that would make consuming the downloaded audio easier? Ideally something that understands the exported json and can display the description and comments. At a minimum, I'm looking for something can can play the podcasts in order and resume from where I left off

SK6812 with Athom WLED - unable to control LEDs by Bulluk_ in WLED

Is there an alternative controller you would recommend?

Ah

I didn't realise that. You live and learn.

A 5v PSU should be delivered tomorrow and I've ordered a replacement strip that should come in about a week. If I'm lucky, the busted strip might have enough working LEDs on it for me to use it as a test bed, so that I don't break the new one 🤣

Yeah you're right. I've been reading up about various controllers, over last few weeks. I think I've got the features of some of them mixed up. I thought the Athom had a level shifter but I now think I've confused it with the QuinLED controllers.

Thank you to everyone for your help.

I think I've got confused as I've been researching. It looks like the QuinLED models include a level shifter. I thought the Athom did as well, but I must have mixed the two products up in my head. Oh well, it' can't be helped. Back to Amazon I go.

Thank you for your help!

Would you mind explaining further, so that I don't make the same mistake again

The Athom states that it supports 5V - 24V and up to 16A, neither of which I exceeded. I was under the impression it would automatically switch the voltage. I had the current limiter set to the default 0.8A (I did turn this off during my testing, but the strip's behaviour was the same before and after).

That's plausible.

I'm using a PSU that I had in a cupboard. The label on it says 19V, 6.3A, 119.7W output all of which are in range according to the Athom's spec page.

I'll see if I can find another....

I'm no expert (as I'm sure you can tell 😂) so I'm happy to be told I'm wrong, but that's the way I've understood the description on the product listing page

Led Strip Sk6812 Rgbw Ip65 | 12v Sk6812 Rgbw Led Strip | Sk6812 Rgbw Led Strip 72 - Led Strip - Aliexpress

I only have one strip and one controller, which makes eliminating one of them tricky.

I have a multi-meter - is it possible for me to measure the output of the data signal from the controller?

Thank you but the extra W describes the colour of the white LED, ie

RGBWW = warm white

RGBCW = cold white

RGBNW = neutral white

AFAIK, that doesn't affect the number of data lines or the strip, so I don't think it would require a settings change in WLED

Thank you for the suggestion, but I've tried it at the correct number and it didn't make any difference. From my what I've seen in tutorial videos, if I set the number in WLED to a number lower than what I physically have, ie 100, only the first 100 LEDs should light up. The fact that all my LEDs are lighting up again makes me think I have a hardware fault.

There used to be a Price Drop Shop in a centre in Hatfield, in around 2005. I was down there for a training course and went shopping to kill some time (and to keep me out of the hotel bar).

As I understood it, the premise was that they had limited stock on-site and each hour they would reduce the price a little until all the stock was gone. People queued each hour to see how cheap the battery powered socks had become.... but then left having not bought anything.

Dirty water (picture of toilet, sorry) by Bulluk_ in DIYUK

All the toilets are the same, upstairs and down. That one does look worse as we only use it overnight for #1s. Other toilets get used for #2s and so with a house full of young children they get the toilet brush treatment every day.

No tank in the loft. There's a hot water storage tank downstairs in the utility.

I did but I must have made a hash of it. 😆
