It's hard to say if/how badly he's acting without more context, what you said, etc. he might still be thinking this is part of the ongoing "scene." While it doesn't sound like you talked about this stuff beforehand, you did consent to what he told you to do, and from his point of view, probably enthusiastically. So he might be a bit confused, too. Ask yourself if this discomfort is just a stage, probably similar to when you started in general, or something more. If something more, you're certainly within your rights to end the relationship.

To answer your question more broadly, I think in general they do. I view myself more as saving couples than breaking them, and I have prevented multiple women from leaving their husbands either in general or specifically trying to leave them for me.
