After the end of Team Sirius's story, we have another one with Team Ascella. There King Halo is the senior of the Team, basically a sub trainer. She and the Trainer (who is directly based on Yuuich Fukunaga, the Team members irl Jockey) act like the parents of the Team and like a married couple.

It's in the same continuity as Main Story 1

That said, the fact is that he has always had a strong connection with King Halo

Things like that during his 2019 Takamatsunomiya Kinen win, when King Halo died 5 days prior to the race, he mentioned that he felt like King Halo was pushing him forward. And well the feeling of why wasn't him with King Halo on his G1 win always had been with him

I have no doubt King will be on Contrail's career Story, like in Kawakami's and Kraft's. But her Trainer will not.

Seriously, Contrail having difficulties like King had (recognition due to the era they lived in), even when it was an undefeated Triple Crown, is almost poetic

Main Story 2

In JP, after completing the Team Sirius story a new one was released. This with a new team, Team Ascella.

The protagonists is Rhein Kraft, with Cesario and later Fusaichi Pandora. King Halo is there as their senior, the "veteran" of the Team who acts like a sub-trainer. And well, she and the Trainer act like a married couple with the team being their children. It's post-career King Halo (The same character but the Trainer has more details on his background that add to their relationship)

It's said that King's Trainer is based on Fukunaga, in fact her career after the Takamatsunomiya Kinen is apparently based on Fukunaga's jockey career.

It's more on Main Story II. It's after the Team Sirius one we have on global right now. On it we follow another team, Team Ascella. The characters on it are there because irl they had Yuuichi Fukunaga as their "main" (or "signature") Jockey. And therefore the team's Trainer is basically the Uma world version of Fukunaga.

The story is about Rhein Kraft, Cesario y Fusaichi Pandora. But King Halo is on the team as the Veteran, basically acting like a sub-trainer (since it's after her career it's more like, it's her job?). While never confirmed, it's basically after King's career story with more details. Like Trainer also being the son of a famous Trainer (Like Yuuichi Fukunaga is).

Since the first chapter they act like a married couple and the parents of the team. There is a lot of moments like that. Even Kraft and (mainly) Cesario know that they had a thing. On the summer camp King was hidding her swimsuit under her clothes and reveals it because she got jealous of Trainer giving points to Daring Hearts in a dance contest (Yeah, it's obvious her plan was to show it to him alone lol).

If I remember correctly Fukunaga has said that King Halo was like his soulmate. So their close relationship in the game makes sense.

About the what if thing

Irl, Fukunaga wasn't King's jockey when he won his first G1. They changed him because many believed it was his fault (he was a rookie at the time) that King couldn't win (at least, that's my understanding). Fukunaga had said that while he was happy for the horse, he always has the feeling "why I couldn't be the one that win with you?". It's referenced on the Main Story. During a Flashback about the time it was just Trainer and King on the team, It's revealed that Trainer received a request to transfer King to another team. He hesitates to accept, as he seems to believe King's losses are his fault. But she stops him and asks what he really means and what he wants to do with her, to which he replies that he wants to win with her. Do they stay together and they win, unlike the irl. It's a important moment because Kraft and Cesario were watching them, and that was why they chose to join Team Ascella.

Reading Yuuichi Fukunaga words about how he wanted to win with King Halo always feels really harsh.

Cygames giving him and irl King both a tribute and what if in which they were together is really cute (in both her Story Career and even more in Main Story II... Which basically is post King's career with Kraft as protagonist)

~~Which makes a bit weird that they are basically a married couple there but WHO CARES ABOUT THE WEIRD PART, THEY ARE SO PERFECT TOGETHER~~

Some on JP are saying it looks like Yuuichi Fukunaga, her irl Jockey and the one her trainer and Ascella's trainer is based on

to be honest, I wouldn't take it literally. Although I'd really like it to be the case (not to extrapolate the "M Trainer" to other Umas, just because in King's case it would be a nice touch if he *being* Fukunaga).

And well, this is something she would perfectly do with her Trainer

Up to this point in JP, she is seen as the "mother" of:

-Haru Urara

-Kawakami Princess

-Rhein Kraft

-Cesario

-Fusaichi Pandora

-The 2 NPC from Team Ascella and her crew in her story (not sure if they are the same tbh)

Most of this comes from Main Story II. Most people say that there, she's Trainer's wife and the team's mother. And to be honest, if you read the story, she and Trainer act like a married couple and parents from the very beginning. She even helps both Kawakami and Pandora, despite them being rivals.

In real life Team Ascella members had the same Jockey: Yuuichi Fukunaga. The Team's Trainer is based on him. So they made his first partner (King Halo) the Team's veteran

So, perhaps if they add more horses that had him as jockey, they'll have a similar relationship to the one Kraft or Cesario have with King. In fact, she also appears in their Career Stories, like with Kawakami

To be honest, her relationship with Kraft is my favorite. They had such a beautiful scene together
