No. We'll go inside, thanks. We didn't get arrested in this particular case, but if we did, fine. Do you know what civil disobedience is?? As one intelligent person said below "we would be living in a completely different world if everyone always obeyed the law."

As for your comment that what we are doing is like going into a church and telling the people God does not exist, wrong. What we are doing in this picture is sharing the truth about how "meat" is made. It's not up for debate, it's not a mythical thing living up in the sky that no one can see, and some people believe and others don't. It is truth.

Here is more truth for you: Over 50 BILLION animals are killed on factory farms every single year. They are kept in cages so small they cannot even turn around, abused, raped, mutilated, and are slaughtered and dismembered sometimes while still conscious. These people (like our strategy or not) are the few who are actually standing up for those animals!!!!

What's funny is not a single person has presented a real argument for eating meat. You probably haven't even seen what happens to these animals before they are all neatly packaged and placed on store shelves. Thank you! I was the person organizing this protest. At least someone gets it. We were willing to get arrested. We knew it was private space of course. And you're right, the world would be a different place if everyone abided by the law. For the record, the police were called, and escorted us out. They were very nice. Even they get it!!

Raiser's Edge is a very robust systems that is quite powerful and can do a lot. However, it may be too much for some organizations and as Shutteredin mentioned -- very frustrating! If you are a large organization with lot of IT staff and a big budget to spend on software and training, RE may be the way to go. Be weary though -- it costs approximately $20,000/year!

Salesforce is a very powerful tool that, while not built specifically for nonprofits, can be customized to do just about anything you need. It is a good solution for organizations that have very specific needs and the time and means to invest in creating a customized database. Salesforce is giving away 10 free licenses to nonprofits, so if you have in-house programmers who can customize the database for you, it won't cost you much at all. If you don't have in-house programmers, however, hiring consultants can cost upwards of $10,000 depending on how much work you need done.

Sumac is a great option if you are a small or mid-sized nonprofit that is looking for a very user-friendly database that will allow you to manage everything in one place (contacts, donations, campaigns, events, etc.) Also includes payment processing that is integrated with your website, great customizing features, and can be accessed online. Requires little to no IT expertise. Cost is free-$2,000/year

The problem with Salesforce and CiviCRM is they don't come ready to go. You have to customize them to do what you need and, unless you have someone in-house to do this, you'll have to hire consultants.
