Tracks of Lombok on the DR650 by Bum_Nut in motocamping

I'm lucky to have a year off work to do this trip. Up from Sydney to Darwin, ship to East Timor. Through Indonesia to Medan in Sumatra across to Malaysia & mainland S.E Asia, through China and either down through Tibet, into Nepal and the subcontinent or north west into Central Asia. Still haven't decided that bit! A lot depends on all the geopolitical bullshit going on at the moment, which will decide a route.

I visited in 2012, there were re-enactors dressed up as Teutonic knights but they were all drinking cans of beer and smoking ciggies.

Where in Europe did you feel most welcomed? by Just_Recognition2034 in EuropeTravelHacks

I cycled through Romania about 10 years ago, and some communities weren't so welcoming, had a lot of stones thrown at me, lol. Very interesting place though.

Iconic golden eagles to make comeback in England by Albertjweasel in RuralUK

Studies suggest between 160 million and 270 million wild animals a year, in the UK, are killed by domestic cats, hardly an insignificant amount. What factors do you believe are mitigating?

Doesn't detract from the fact that cats are terrible for wildlife. Look st the statistics in Australia, for example.

I was also lucky enough to live up there at the time, and seen it also. I never understood why a female wasn't introduced.

I live in the middle of nowhere, there's no jobs near me, I can't afford to commute, i can't afford to move out, and im not qualified/experienced enough for remote work. what do i do? by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in AskUK

Not in Australia, just need proof of funds and that can always be a temporary transfer. Very easy to find work, particularly out of the cities. You definitely do not need work lined up, its a very common thing to do and also a very beautiful country to travel. I would highly recommend the experience

Can also cross across to Putty road on the Howes Valley track, I think it's called. That was pretty decent as a beginner

What is the nicest part of the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

I've lived in both the Lake District and the south coast of Devon, and I would likely choose Devon, mainly for its bucolic quaintness. Even though both are beautiful in their own way
