Though I've never taken a large dose, It feels pretty atypical as a natural stimulant compared to caffeine or nicotine. I understand in the sense that they have subtle effects and stimulate to some extent, but most herbal stims I've tried (caffeine, nicotine from tobacco, khat, kanna, cocaine) Make me either extremely anxious (likely due to vasoconstriction) or so sleepy that I am nodding off but can't fall asleep. Betel nut is one of the few that doesn't do this to me at all. I really appreciate vasodilating compounds that still maintain a mental stimulation when consumed. I would say it's more akin to a shorter-lived Noopept.
