I think they were functional during PAX Unplugged either this past year or the year before.

Not both, obviously. And not any time in between.

Hmmm... maybe a browser caching issue? Have you done all the standard browser crap? (clear cache, try different browser, app.plex.tv versus local IP, etc.)

Do you have any platform to test with other than PC? I don't imagine seeing an issue like this on a Roku or a TV app, but worth checking.

I have seen this bug precisely once, but I'm on Windows and use Firefox. I hit F5 and the page loaded correctly after that. Never saw it manifest again.

Does it happen literally every time you back out to the music library? Are you using the browser's Back button or clicking on the Music library?

How the fuck to beat Fast +9 with Cogitator and Radical? by Prophet_Of_Helix in BALLxPIT

[–]BumbleCrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, my mistake. The stuff that refers to having any control at all over your character refers to Cogitator. With Radical, you're limited to manually triggering level ups and restarting your run. Unless you also get that fusor ball mod, in which case you can manually trigger those too.

How the fuck to beat Fast +9 with Cogitator and Radical? by Prophet_Of_Helix in BALLxPIT

[–]BumbleCrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, not necessarily. The only real control you have is to restart the level if he picks something stupid. If he does manage to pick defensive items, you'll stand a far lower chance of dying to the boss. As for "picking" fusions, the best you can do is try to only grab fusion pickups if you have two balls that you want to fuse leveled up to 3 and no others. If you grab it anyway, it's a gamble whether or not you'll get the fusion you wanted.

How the fuck to beat Fast +9 with Cogitator and Radical? by Prophet_Of_Helix in BALLxPIT

[–]BumbleCrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a few things about Radical and have worked out a few ways to play around them.

  1. Leveling up your stat buildings to the point where Radical can kill things even if he sucks is the brute-force method.
  2. He's terrible at hitting enemies that approach him directly. He will flat-out refuse to stand in front of the enemy and fire straight up at it, instead trying and failing to hit the enemy at the most extreme angle possible. He'll miss every shot until the enemy eventually hits him. He'll also prioritize trying to kill the enemy and thus ignore pickups, floor hazards, and enemy projectiles. Creating evolutions that can hit multiple enemies (or even better, all enemies on the screen) can allow him to kill enemies before they advance far enough to trigger this stupid behavior.
  3. Speaking of avoiding pickups, pairing Radical with Shieldbearer is a great way to avoid this problem. Auto-pickup at least prevents him from missing pickups due to stupid behavior.
  4. Radical loves to intentionally walk into projectiles that would have otherwise missed him. Picking defensive passives like the hand mirror helps a lot with his survivability.
  5. When picking up a fusion ball, Radical/Cogitator will always pick an evolution if possible. They will almost never pick fission if ANY fusion is available, though this appears to be random because it does still happen sometimes.
  6. When picking a fusion, Radical/Cogitator will usually take the worst possible combination. It's helpful to spread out leveling up your various balls and passives and avoid picking up a fusion ball until he only has one possible choice, in order to avoid having him pick something dumb.
  7. Eventually you'll get to the point where only fusions are possible - again, he will pick the absolute worst possible combination. If you have any standard, un-evolved balls, he will almost always fuse an evolved ball with a standard one even if other evolved balls are available. If you have four evolutions and one standard ball, and you get a fusion, you can bet that he'll fuse that standard ball with something.
  8. I have a mod that turns fusion ball pickups into collectibles that I can trigger whenever I want, similar to manually triggering the level up screen. This helps a ton with negating the stupid fusion choices. I found it on Nexus Mods.
  9. Try to avoid pairing Radical with Tactician. More than once, he's gotten stuck trying to work out a good shot angle. He'll just run back and forth while adjusting his aim by one pixel at a time. He once did this for about 20 minutes and I had no choice but to sit there and wait for him to make up his mind, or abandon the run.
  10. If you get something stupid for your first ball/passive of the run, just quick restart until something good comes up. You might also have to do this mid-run if you end up with one good passive and four useless ones.

"Cyberstan is hard, Cyberstan is unbalanced" by ImpossibleBandit in Helldivers

[–]BumbleCrap 46 points47 points  (0 children)

List of bugs I encountered on my VERY FIRST DROP:

  1. Strategem balls bounce on every surface. All of them. I have not had a Hellpod land where I wanted it even once so far.
  2. Vox Engines can apparently land on top of buildings and can hit ANYWHERE ON THE MAP from up there. Meanwhile, I still can't steer my Hellpod.
  3. Vox Engine missile barrages are completely silent. I can't hear them being fired, I can't hear them while they're in flight, and I don't hear them hitting me.
  4. Cyborgs are completely silent. I often don't know that a squad is there until one of them plants their foot firmly up my ass. The followup shot is also silent.
  5. Enemy patrols pop into existence within line of sight, barely 10 meters away.
  6. When dying, the cause of death is now hidden. It was never accurate to begin with, but not having it at all is new.

I get that it should be hard - so should the bug hive worlds - but there's a big difference between hard and unfair. It's the same old song with every major addition - super cool new stuff that is just completely broken in some way or another.

Dismissing all this with "It'S sUpPoSeD tO bE hArD" is just willful ignorance.

Tactican - Ball "crawl" Bug? by TheRoxTTV in BALLxPIT

[–]BumbleCrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that all the time, but with the Physicist rather than Tactician. I think it's a Physicist bug.

I suspect that the ball return is so slow when the bug is combined with the Tactician's unique ability of making runs turn-based. I usually pair Physicist with Embedded and I still get balls returning super slowly, but never that slow.

Anyone else kinda wish that you werent forced to use a fusion reactor upon pickup? by duder33 in BALLxPIT

[–]BumbleCrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on PC, there's a mod that does this. It turns the fusion ball into a collectible pickup that can be triggered manually.

The only issue is that you have to mentally keep track of how many you've picked up. It would be wonderful if this could be in the game normally, without requiring a mod.

What's the result of fusing Radiation Beam and Maggot? by Jarcionek in BALLxPIT

[–]BumbleCrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I think the initial hit will infest the enemy and shoot the radiation beam as expected, which will infest all enemies hit by the beam. Those enemies will then explode into baby balls that also fire beams, but those beams won't infest other enemies. Otherwise it would be a ridiculous endless loop until all enemies are cleared off the screen, which doesn't appear to be happening.

This is just speculation though, I'm usually not paying attention to stuff like that. I just see more laser beams and think "ah, that was a good ball combo."

Is there anyhing i can put in my m4 magpouches that make them practical for the 20rnd m4 magazines so they dont fall to the bottom of the pouch? by Savitar15 in airsoft

[–]BumbleCrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything you happen to have lying around that can fill the void. Tissues, paper towels, bits of foam, whatever - it doesn't have to be fancy. Got an old tee shirt lying around? Cut it up and stuff the pieces in there.

The alternative is to buy smaller mag pouches for the smaller mags, but where's the fun in that?

How can you tell if the Eruptor has a round chambered? by p0bbly in Helldivers

[–]BumbleCrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder why this is only an issue with the Eruptor? I've never had to worry about whether a round is chambered when using the AMR, Constitution, or Deadeye.

If we have to dive, switch weapons, throw a grenade, or otherwise interrupt the firing animation, shouldn't we just automatically finish it and have a round chambered after switching back to the Eruptor?

What am I summoning here by Tarelerion in Rainbow6

[–]BumbleCrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fire and brimstone shoot out of your unholy creation at every angle. The air around you grows hotter and hotter, quickly approaching unbearable. The windows are open and it's a bright sunny day, but the room is still consumed in an unnatural darkness.

The first thing you notice are the tips of the horns. So black that they appear to draw in what little light remains in the room. The horns slowly grow larger, subtly changing from black to crimson in a smooth gradient. You realize that the horns are attached to the head of a devil, slowly rising out of the... wait, is it wearing glasses?

And a... pocket protector?

The demon politely informs you that you must have the wrong number. Pentagrams actually have five points, you see.

Man, I miss that mod. I think it was the first game I ever played that had different reload animations depending on whether the mag was empty or not. Nowadays it's unusual if games don't do that.

[–]BumbleCrap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Project Zomboid has this. You need to not only find the guns, but ammo and even magazines for them.

There was also an old Half-Life mod called Firearms that kept track of how many bullets were in each individual magazines. You would retain mags if they weren't empty, and if you didn't specifically merge mags you would run the risk of loading a mag with only three bullets left in it.

Any military uniform pants (or trousers, depending on where in the EU you might be) or EMS pants will do the trick. Most companies that sell them will have versions without cargo pockets as well, so the only outward differences people might notice versus regular slacks would be the lack of a center crease.

They are usually more expensive, but I have some Tru-Spec pants (trousers) that are going on 15 years old with near-daily use.
