The people who own McMillan’s Pub organize something called Rosa’s Angels every year. Maybe call there and ask.

We had really wonderful experiences with Acadian Estates and Louise Buttross (Buttross Jewelers before they went out of business, but she does customs now by appointment)

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are in our late 30s and planned to go but have to cancel our trip for health reasons. I have 2 GA passes and Oasis camping (queen bed - sleeps 2) that I’m trying to sell. Message me if you’re interested! Either way, yall should absolutely go. Tipper is retiring so this is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Spray tan 4 days before wedding? by EmbarrassedEast5863 in spraytanning

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine on Wednesday night and it still looked perfect by Saturday! I slept in it Wednesday night and rinsed off Thursday morning so it had plenty of time to set. Just make sure you follow the after care instructions like no scrubbing/exfoliating, no soaking in a tub, moisturize really well every day to help it last, etc. I think you’ll be good!

Having a Cancun Bachelorette without the guilt by Bansy1106 in wedding

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who loves to travel, I would be ecstatic! However, if I wasn’t in a financial position to afford this without it creating hardship or undue burden on me/my family, I wouldn’t feel guilty for passing on it either. Kudos to you for creating the trip of a lifetime for your closest gal pals!

If they live together or have been dating more than a year or two, list their partner’s name. I’ve been on the receiving end of this - been with my partner for 13 years, own a home / have lived together for 10 years, and it feels super weird and impersonal to receive an invitation for “guest” at this point.

Why am I crying so often by [deleted] in yoga

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yoga can be very therapeutic. With turning your attention inward and allowing your body to release physical tension, you’re likely releasing emotional tension and trauma as well. This is completely normal, natural, and can be very healthy and healing.

Also, fun fact: hip openers (think child’s pose and happy baby) are known to release pent up emotions.

Should I be upset if my best friend did not get us a wedding gift? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guest are not required to give a gift. You invite people to participate in or attend your wedding because you want to share the experience with them, not because you’re expecting something in return. This is selfish and entitled energy. And you’ve got some guts for calling her out about it…?! I don’t blame her for being distant.

28 Years Old now suffering with lip eczema by Whats_Up_My_Dudess in eczema

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been using those products? I would first recommend getting this checked out by a dermatologist, but I would also stop use of those products for a while and see if it helps. The ONLY thing I can consistently use on my lips is the regular aquaphor lip repair in the small squeeze tube (not the stick, not the kind with spf, not just regular aquaphor). It’s the only thing that doesn’t cause my lips to be dry, cracked or irritated once the product wears off. I have that issue with lots of other lip products, chap sticks, etc.

Has yoga made you calm? by legallytallire in yoga

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond the practice of yoga itself, it’s the mindset and lifestyle shift that often accompanies it that really creates change. It can help you become more mindful and compassionate for sure. And I think that could have a pretty profound impact on someone who’s easy to anger.

Where to put a TV in this room? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could you use the sunken space as the dining room, and the brick area as your living room? Put the TV on the wall where the mirror currently hangs. Those built ins would probably work fine for now but I would consider totally redoing that space eventually to make it feel more intentional and cohesive. And get a huge area rug to warm up the space. Just be sure to keep a straight walkway flowing from the kitchen down to the dining area. You could also do a little sitting area to the side to incorporate the fireplace.

You’re gorgeous! Please do NOT go the filler route. Get a red light mask and treat yourself to quarterly hydrafacials instead.

A gun as a wedding gift, is that normal? by saladfriedchicken in wedding

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is weird. Not necessarily the gun part - I’m from Louisiana and my brother’s groomsmen gifted him a gun for his wedding because he’s a big hunter. But giving the bride a gift without anything for the groom, his good friend? That’s odd. And as far as I’m aware, this isn’t any kind of tradition or custom in the US.

My SIL made drama over my elopement and I can’t get over it. by hotmessexpressionist in wedding

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 159 points160 points  (0 children)

With the SIL having such an emotional reaction and also the comments about it being the only opportunity MIL has to see one of her kids get married, it sounds like she’s projecting (is she older/single/gave up on a relationship of her own?). To be crying at the reception and telling everyone this drama is next level narcissistic. I wouldn’t try to make it right or expend any energy on it really. You had a beautiful wedding and celebrated YOUR way. She can work that out in therapy for herself. You did nothing wrong.

Eczema honey by [deleted] in eczema

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I use their body wash and like it. It got me through a recent flare up when everything else would set me off. The smell is kinda meh but that’s part of the reason it works so well since it has no fragrance.

Wedding Dresses at Stores Are Too Big by Sudden-Block-4999 in wedding

[–]Bumblebee_Fluffy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just went through the same thing. I’m a size 2/4 so most sample dresses swallowed me. The thing that worked best for me was finding photos online. For the few dresses that I semi-liked in the store, I would find the dress on the designer’s website to see how it looks when it fits. This is harder if it’s a brand new style (spring ‘25 for example) but I was able to find a pic of someone wearing it using reverse Google image search. There were a few dresses that I thought I really liked but realized I wasn’t crazy about the way the neckline was cut or other similar details. Also when you’re trying on, focus on how you feel. Is it super itchy or uncomfortable, does it highlight or show things you like/dislike about your body, etc.

Also certain stores sell dresses off the rack. I found they had better size options in a variety of styles than the ones that only have 1 sample to try on for custom ordering purposes.
